Presidential thread #2 - Term 5: The Rule of Law

I am assuming the office of President under Section J of the Code of Standards. I have asked for official recognition in this post in the Judicial Department.

Here is the first Presidential thread for term 5.

Under authority from Section H of the Code of Laws I respectfully appoint Chiefpaco as Chief Justice. It is my hope that he will accept this appointment and the that the council will approve his appointment.

I am not sure of the proper procedure for initiating the council vote.

EDIT: OK, CoL, Section C, Point 3 E says the sponsoring official posts the poll. I'm not sure where it goes so I'll put it in the polls sub-forum.

Generally, the procedure is to post in each departmental thread that a new new council poll is opened, will a link to the thread in the polls section.

SECTION J ABSENTEEISM

Point 1) An official is considered absent from the chat turn when
they are not present at the chat turn.

Point 2) An official is considered absent from the forum when they
have not responded to a required inquiry (Cabinet Vote,
request in the official's department thread) in 36 hours.

A) An official who is absent from the chat turn is not
considered absent from the Forum until the Forum absenteeism
requirement has been met.

hmm... CT's "ousting" didn't follow the rule here, she wasn't directly seeked for a responce, and has been here. And I'm normally not the one who invokes the constitution, I tend to leave that stuff to Shaitan and Disorganizer.

And to top it off General I see that the new and improved Section J isn't even posted in the constitution yet.

I call for this thread to be closed on the basis that it is founded on illegallity and is no longer required due to the return of CT.

The thread does not need to be closed. True it is no longer required due to the President's return but it was not founded on illegality.

In any event now that Chieftess is back we still have a few things to sort out. I will withdraw my appointment of Chiefpaco as Chief Justice since Chieftess made her appointment nine minutes before I made mine. Obviously that means she returned before I made my appointment, though I did not know it at the time.

EDIT: I am way too tired folks. I made my appointment of Chiefpaco in the presidential thread 11 minutes before Chieftess posted her appointment. I will ask the Judicial department to sort it out after all,
