I was trying to blockade allies to skim a little profit from some of their coastal cities. They were long-term allies that I had all positive marks with, in both cases over +25 positive with no negative, (well, I had -1 for Napoleon for refusing to switch civics). Anyhow, both of my former allies declared war on me instantly when I blockaded the first port! But, that would mean they KNEW the privateer was mine, but that's not the way it works is it?

I'll try to reproduce it, but I already had the war and didn't have a save previously. I'll make sure to save from now on right before I do my first blockade so that I can help identify if this one is real.

I got declared upon from a friendly fellow that i attacked with my privateer once. it was just outside my border so i thought that the AI kinda knew that it was me :D

I have blockaded and pillaged with Privateers, when I was still the only one in the world who could build them. (So I guess everybody who had a mind could know it was me) That said, nobody declared war on me and my diplomatic relations were also not effected.

You got the the same problem I got ^^
My Privateer also caused all the other civilizations declared war on me.......

Hey folks,

This is BtS v3.02. The attached files show the end of turn for 1865, when I had open borders with a lot of other civs, and then the start of 1866, when about 5 or 6 of them all un-open-bordered me at the same time. I think it was because they figured out I was the one attacking them with my privateer. I'd never been to war with any of them, I'd just been kill their transports/caravels with privateers.

Thanks,

Jeff

Even if they only DOW you if you do blockade, and doesn't if you don't, that's still not a guaranteed bug.

The blockading could change their internal factors, driving them over the limit.

The easiest way to confirm a bug would be to check the blockading code to see if there's any way an AI might respond to what it isn't supposed to know, ie the nationality of the privateer.
