problem after updating

hey, I just got this game a couple days ago and I saw that I had an older version (1.07f) so I downloaded the patch to update to 1.29f from this site, installed it and now civ3 wont start, it says that binkw32.dll cannot be found, and when the CD isnt in the drive it says that it needs the CD. is there a fix for this or should I just reinstall v1.07f and forget about v1.29f? thanks

EDIT: I have just the regular Civ 3, not PTW or Conquests

anyone? any help at all? Ive looked through all the threads here but I cant find anything.

EDIT: if there arent any fixes for this, then could someone tell me where to find an editor or trainer for v1.07?

Have you looked through the Civ III Fixes thread? I know I've seen stuff about problems with that same file. You might also run a search in the Civ III Tech Support forum for that filename.

I searched for binkw32.dll here, couldnt find anything relevant to my situation, closest I could find was some guy using an external cd drive (as I am) and not being able to load the game. would it be possible to update to 1.16f then 1.21f then to 1.29f? I'll try this later on

I tried updating to 1.16f and its the exact same thing. can anyone help me with this?
