I'm currently using Civ 2 MGE. Here's my problem:
When the box pops up to offer you the available technologies to research, the technologies that I can research keep changing. For example, the first time it pops up I have, say "Writing" as a choice. The next time it pops up, "Writing" is gone. Then, the following time "Writing" is there again.
Also, sometimes researching a technology doesn't unlock the technologies it is supposed to until a the next researching round. For example, (and this one appears very frequently) I research Code of Laws (having previously researched Ceremonial Burial) but Monarchy doesn't get unlocked until I research another technology. It doesn't matter what it is, but it doesn't show up otherwise.
I've tried the following combination, but it doesn't change:
MGE 1.0 w/ x64 patch (I'm on Vista x64), MGE 1.3 w/ x64 patch, MGE 1.0 in XP virtual machine, and MGE 1.3 in XP virtual machine
I'm wondering if this is supposed to happen, but I can't find an answer either way.
