problems changing video options

Hey I have a question about changing the quality options of the game
I have a good computer sow i can run civ 5 on the high quality settings but there seams to be a problem here it is :
I can change every setting to high quality exept the leader scene quality i only have 2 options there(low and minimum). There olso seams a problem with the intro video i can hear the sound but dont see the video....

What is the problem and how do i fix it sow i can have a high quality video of leaders and a cool intro video.
I have direct X version 11 sow i dont understant it. What other program do i need?

What operating system (Windows version) and grahpics card do you have? DX11 is only available on Win7 with also a DX11 capable graphics card.

Well i have windows xp thats for sure but i dont know what graphics card i have where can i check this?

Then don't bother with DX11, it will not look better than DX9.

Well that's impossible. There is a unnoficial patch to get Dx10 running on XP (And it barely works, since games check to OS not to Dx version), but there isn't anything of that for DX11.
If you got Dx11 then you have Vista or 7. Else you have XP and Dx9.

And for what I know 2K (the game maker) is part of the Microsoft program about forcing players to migrate to 7 or Vista through limiting graphics on Dx9 (This happened with Dragon Age2, you can only have medium graphics with dx9). In short: High and very high leader heads are for Dx11 only (dx10?)

About the intro: It might be codecs problem. Usually free compilations such as ffdshow may help.
Don't forget: The intro doesn't change. You watch it once and then you'll start to get tired of watching it all the time. When you do, look for the usersettings.ini on the Mygames civ folder and search for SkipIntroVideo, turn it to 1, and you're set.
