Problems installing patch

Now, I've searched and found threads with problems similar to the one I'm having, although my problem is about a different patch.

So I Installed Civ4, Warlords, and BtS on a different computer than the one I'm using now, but due to the computer's age I wasn't able to play it on that computer, so I moved it to a more powerful one using a removable hard drive.
Basically, I didn't install Civ4 on the computer I use it on so although I am able to play it, I can't install any patches onto it because I installed Civ4 and both expansion packs on a different computer. So now when I try to install the BtS 3.17 patch, it says "we have detected that no version of Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword has been installed on this computer." I can't simply install all the stuff again because one of the Civ4 discs went missing, so then I wasn't sure what I was going to do. Until recently, that is, when I found one or two people experiencing similar problems with a different patch. They needed some special version of the patch they were looking for, but that's not the one I need.

So can anyone help me?

unfortunately what you need is the registry keys that civilization uses to install the game into windows - they were present on your old computer and are not on your new one...
