Problems! Please help me

Just as my friend above is upset to be having problems with his new version of Civ, I am too I love the game and was very excited to buy it. Unlike the gent above it installed okay, and everything seemed to be fine - until I started a game. Even at this point the game was working okay, however, my characters face is transparent and there is just a floating set of eyes and teeth! Aswell as this, the terrain on the map is just black except for the squares containing trees and my units. I don't know whether this could be rectified by changing a particular graphics setting? I can't play it like this because it's dead annoying. I would very much appreciate any help that anyone could give me on this matter. My PC is about two years old now, but I think it should still be able to handle the game! I have looked at the system requirements and I think my computer meets the requirements!!

Your post doesn't say -- have you patched the game yet? Try that first. If not, then have a look around the forums for people with similar problems.

Also, as a friendly suggestion, include a list of your system specs. If you're asking a tech support question, whoever tries to answer you will need a better idea of what your compy can do.

And of course update the drivers for your graphics card if you don´t already use the latest drivers
