Problems with running on Vista 64 and Windows 7 64

Hi,

I love Civ 4 and my favourite mod Fall from Heaven 2. Unfortunately i got some serious problems running the game on Windows 7 64 and Vista 64 bit. Even though i got very strong machine Civ 4 uses 99% of my CPU, lags like hell and is just unplayable. Whe the game starts it says something about lowering the setting cause my PC is too weak ( i got Geforce 285 ...). Can anyone tell me what to do ? Did anyone got such problems?

also: are you running the game as administrator?

I am not home right now but i uploaded Dxdiag from my sister comp - she got windows 7 and its same problem. Her video card is bit older but i think it should handle Civilization without any problems.

again: is it running with admin rights?

Thanks for the tips.

After turning on admin rights civ doesnt use 90% of cpu but quite normal value. Tomorrow i will update my pc with new drivers. Game runs now smoother but i think its still slower than Vista 32 or good old XP

also check that your directx install is updated - I don't have the link on this computer - but just search the microsoft homepage for directx and install the latest one
