Is there a proper way to hold an RPG 7? I've seen pics with people holding the front handle with either the left or right hand and the back handle with the opposite. Does it matter one way or the other? Basically this is for a Vietnam era unit.

Roger, you hold an RPG-7 inverse of how you would hold a rifle from front to back. So if you're right handed, you still squeeze the trigger with the right hand, but it's in front of your left. As in this high speed google image:

And when you have it fired, do not knock over the firing individual like the TV commercial for one of the online games does. It is a RECOILLESS weapons, but make sure you do have a nice prominent back blast.

Unless, you know, the blast startles your poor paperdoll and he falls down

here a couple of pics you might find useful

Gary, what I'd like to know is where you got a Poser-compatible RPG-7....

Also, Timerover: RPG-7's have very little back-blast for a rocket launcher, mainly due to the use of a mortar-like charge (a very small one) that pushes the rocket clear of the launcher prior to main engine ignition... That is why you only need about 5 ft of clearance behind an RPG-7 as opposed to 20 ft like a LAW....

....Which means that unlike the LAW and similar MANPADs, you can fire it from INSIDE a building, as our boys found out the hard way in Afghanistan and Iraq. As a matter of fact, thanks to that hard-earned combat experience, the US Government has contracted Airtronics USA (the people who brought you the M203 Grenade launcher) to make an American version of the RPG-7 with tactical rails (similar to the ones on the M-16 and M-4 rifle) for mounting laser sights and other such things.... Not only will it offer better tactical flexibility than the current-use LAW (in addition to being able to fire it from better cover, you can also swap out different types of rockets in a matter of seconds) and it is much cheaper as well (the price-tag on Airtronics-USA's site listed it at $3000)....
