PTW End-Game errors

It appears that some players are having pediaicons.txt errors at the end-game in gotm 32.

I believe that the cause of this is some of the manual changes with swapping pediaicons.txt files for other GOTM games.

in your Civ3\Civ3PTW\text folder, you should have a copy of pediaicons.txt that is the default base game version. If at any time this has been swapped for a GOTM version, then this may be what is causing the pediaicons.txt errors.

Rather than reinstalling the game to fix this, I have attached a copy of the original pediaicons.txt file. Please install it to your ..civ3\civ3ptw\text\ folder if you experience any of these end-game errors.

So if your running the PTW version (unmodded) that loaded from C3C then it OK, correct?

I received end-game errors, and I am using CivIII v1.29. I also have a pediaicons file that you sent to me - not sure if it the same version that you have posted here.
There were 2 seperate errors at the end-game. I have a power-point picture of both.

I was able to fix the pediaicons file myself.

I should mention that the errors were directly related to a Diplomatic Win - there were some issues with the 'large kiss' and 'small kiss' .pcx files.

So I should put this in C:\Program Files\Games\Civ III(7)\CIV3PTW\Text right? Because I'm still getting the error.

What errors are you getting? Can you send me a copy of the pediaicons.txt file that you have in your civ3\civ3ptw\text\ folder? Send to gotm@civfanatics.net along with a note on the exact error message you are getting, please.

It's fine now. Turns out earlier in the month(last month, rather) I put the fixed file in there...and forgot that I did. Then today, when I was playing my last few turns, I thought, "I better put that fixed pediaicons.txt in there". I looked at the one in the folder, it was 77kb or so, and then looked on my desktop and saw one that was 88kb. For some reason I thought the 88k one was the updated one, and put that into the folder. Turns out it was my backup and I put it on the desktop for some reason...long live sleep-deprivation-induced-confusion!
