Purchasing units in Civ

Ya, that's the gifting system. And Civ 4 already has a similar system. I bet the AI in Beyond the Sword might actually use it from time to time.
 
simple answer..create weapons factories that produce weapon resources,the us dosnt sell weapons that already have crews already on board I dont see why we should do it here.
at any rate you sell weapon resources and redefine the tag so that units require the resource and build with food rather than hammers.
 
New Buying Units idea:
The units in Civ account for 2 seperate entities:
1. The machinery
2. The crew.

Let's assume that 75% of the hammers required to make something come go the machinery.

Machinery can then be bought from another civ.

The crew would still have to be trained domestically, but it would be done in 25% of the time because time would only be spent training the unit. This would resolve some of the national loyalty issues other buying units ideas have.
