I have seen some bad reviews for the game. I was just wondering how the xbox one version compares with the other platforms?

Not many console players here. I asked in another thread and @RockTheCazbah87 was kind enough to share an initial insight, quote below. Are you worried about anything in particular? Performance? UI? The game in general?

The game looks stunning on PS5 and the UI, while still varying shades of heinous, is a huge improvement on PS4. Radial wheel is really well implemented imo. The one downside is that unit cycling (especially with Army Commanders) feels very rough compared to using a mouse and keyboard

I play on an Xbox Series X and it's been running great for me so far. An old friend plays on the S and he hasn't had any issues either. We both have the Founders edition. The biggest issue I've had is a UI issue, but that appears to be across all platforms.

Neither of us have played on any other platform, so we can't compare it to anything.

I'm playing Civ 7 on an Xbox Series X too and is great, graphics are really good so far and had zero problem.
Playing with the controller is not so bad after all, you just need to get used to it and internalize the dynamics, the radial UI in some instances is better than the pc...is slower when you have to pick units or scroll faster.

Does anybody has changed to scroll speed in the settings menu?
Do you know if would be possible to play online agains users with mods on pc?
I've never played civ multiplayer but I'd like to try :)

I thought the scroll speed was terrible when I started playing last week during early access, but I seem to have gotten used to it and don’t noticed anymore. The main thing I wanted to mention though is scrolling with the left stick is much slower than scrolling with the right thumbstick (double check, I might have those backwards). One of the sticks changes the active hex, that’s the slow one. The other one moves the map around, but doesn’t change the active hex, that’s one moves quite quickly, but has the downside that … it doesn’t change the active hex so you can’t select anything with it AFAIK. It is useful for swooping around the map and trying to get a feel for the overall strategic situation.

Yes, just an example: I've just turned off the xbox after a brief session in the modern age and I can tell you that scrolling through the list of town-cities in the resources menu is a pain with the right stick....ok I've got too many town :D but it's a pain, it's slow...sometimes I love playing with the controller, the radial menu is soooo good, but I hate these slowness in some situations and the civilopedia bug

I only have experience on PS5 but I suppose it is similar to Xbox. The overall experience is way better than civ6, because of the radial menus and gameplay changes.

I agree that the resource assignment is a major hassle right now, as well as some other unpolished areas like merchant UI and army commands. But I am sure those will improve over time.

You can always just start with the regular edition and upgrade later, to see for yourself first.
