when i download the gotm game files, why are they all in spss? They dont appear on the scenario list in the game

I really have no idea how to approach this question randomly and out of context with any game or software version.
If this player resurfaces, please contact me by email at gotm@civfanatics.net and include more details in the email that will let me know what software version you are trying to run and what GoTM game you are trying to reference.

Files that you download will appear in the folder that you choose. If you don't choose, they appear in the folder where you saved the last time you downloaded something.
And the GOTM starting files aren't scenerio's so they won't show up as one anyway. They are savefiles.
Finally, perhaps you have also set .sav files to standardly be opened by SPSS?

SPSS files have the default ".sav" extension, so you system will label all ".sav" files as SPSS files.
This has no impact whatsoever on the game.
Just download the GOTM file, place it in the game folder and you will be able to load it from the Civ3 start screen.
