question about multiplayer

Ive just got SMAX but had it years ago, and im itchin to play a multiplayer against human opponents, only thing is when I search for new games there are none, I need to enter an IP address for the host.

I really wanna play as the peacekeepers and play an atmospheric game that is realistic, so how do I find the IP address of a host, there is not many players around....

I don't think that you can search for opponents in SMAC multiplayer. If you're looking for a game, you might be able to find one here.

You will need to be on a LAN with the host to detect a game. You can use a program like Hamachi or tunngle to create a virtual LAN.
