Sorry if this has been posted somewhere but I've looked everywhere and couldn't find anything.
Units in Civ II are accompanied by a three letter abbreviation for their home city (Ie, Rom for Rome). But some cities only create units with NON under them and no matter how many units I create from those cities, the cities never have any supported units, or at least none are shown in the support window of the city screen.
My first thought was that this was an effect from founding a city while under fundamentalism, but in a recent game where I had changed the rules.txt file I found this wasn't the case.
Can someone explain to me what NON means, why some cities produce units with that, and whether or not they require support of any kind?
