Question about unit movement

This is probably the most newbish question that will be in this board, but I apologize, Im a newcomer in these forums

How do you move a unit diagonally?

I guess you mean by keyboard. I hope I use the right term (not sure what the right english term is).....use you're numlock keys numbers 1,3,7 and 9 to move diagonally. Make sure numlock is on.

There are a couple of ways. Use the number pad, toggle the "move units with mouse (cursor arrows)" option in "game options" or hold the mouse button down long enough to enable the "go to" arrow to appear and make the unit go to a square diagonally.

This will make my gameplay much more fun and fair for myself, since the AI were making me jealous with those diagonal movements...

Good question and not really noobish at all. If not attacking, i click and drag by mouse. But if u click and drag in "go to fashion" in an attack, it could unwittingly move your attacking unit to the square of the slain enemy. If you want this, great... but to avoid this... on my laptop keyboard lacking in a number pad, i have to hit "page up" for an upper right movement, "page down" for lower right, "home" for upper left, and "end" for lower left. I had to experiment to figure that out.
