Ok pretty new here, had a look but cant see this answered (im sure its around hehe).

Ok a city works tiles upto 3 tiles out correct (?)

Is there any point in improving tiles further out, say when a city has tiles wned to a distance of say 6. Is there much point in filling these up with villages for example?

Cheers for any info.

Thanks for the quick reply.

So bascially, anything over 3 (apart from strat nd luxuries) is waste? I spent ages building loads of villages on 4+ tiles in my last game these are all wasted then? Even though the map shows as me getting + cash etc from them on the resrouces showing button?

Also, isnt there some early Wonder that increases the owned tilerange of the city its built in or something, does that still stay the same, ie 3 tiles to work, even though your border suddenly jumps right out further than this?

Cheers again

Yea afraid you wasted workers turns. Check the numbers in the city and you see stuff on 4th ring are dark and not workable and you really didnt gain anything from those tiles. Angkor Wat increase cultural border expansion rate but nothing in this game give you ability to work 4th ring.

The only exception is luxury or strategic resources outside the 3-tile distance, but still in your cultural borders. You should still improve those to make them available to your civ.
