Hiz, i'm new to Civil games therefore to Colonization.
I got a question about Tracking Rebel Sentiment.
I know the procedure to generate rebel sentiment with Bells, Papers, etc but i can't understand the difference between the % display in your colony and the % display in the revolution advisor. I had one colony and it was 100% and in the revolution advisor the % was 13%. Can someone explain this matter a little bit because in the manual doesn't say enough.

Thanx and happy holidays:)

BobTheBull,

You can also wrap the URL By hitting the Wrap Icon (2nd from right, nest to spoil icon) on from the reply menu.

Axxon's guide is here.

Well the guide is long for a simple question. The essence is that the city rebel setiment is liberty bells per city population, where country setiment is per country population. All you colonists (soldiers, scouts, etc) count against your country population.

The Revolution Advisor displays your overall rebel sentiment and you can calculate the maximum possible value for this as follows:

Rebel sentiment = bells per turn x 25 / total population.

Your overall rebel sentiment will trend towards this value over time. You can add up your bells per turn from the Domestic Advisor, while your total population is 'All Units' minus 'No Profession' from your Military Advisor.

There are two ways to increase your rebel sentiment - reduce your total population (not recommended) or increase your liberty bell production. What I do if I have trouble reaching the 50% level is build a couple of small 'statesmen' colonies with 3 elder statesmen and a farmer in each. Put them inland so you won't have to defend them from the REF and build a printing press/newspaper there. Your liberty bell production will increase dramatically.

Actually reducing your population is a very effective tactics. I know it doesn't make much sense, but effective none the less. And unlike producing more liberty bells, the effect is immediate. You are much better off deleting colonists and getting the rebel setiment bonus, than trying to produce goods to sell.
