Can anyone confirm for me that when you assign a city to build Wealth or Science, the resulting gold or beakers do NOT get the benefit of infrastructure modifiers?

I had always thought this to be the case, however in a recent game where I had a decent power and tech lead, I switched my capital from unit spam to Wealth but received a larger amount of gold per turn than I was expecting.

Sorry I don't have a screenshot or a save file, I'm not on my game PC at the moment.

the production goes through production multipliers (forge, factory, bureaucracy, ironworks...) and the output is converted to gold. But this gold does not go though the gold multipliers (market, grocer...)

That's what I thought, it seemed a little overpowered if it received the modifiers of both.

After having a chance to actually look at the save, and realising (total side note, the spell checker wants me to spell that realizing, which would only be correct if I was in USA) what had actually happened, I feel silly for even asking this question. :P Somehow, citizen automation had been turned on (I almost never use it because it makes the worst tile choices), and when I switched to Wealth it had created a big stack of Merchant specialists.
