I currently have Jasc Paint shop 7.0 animation, but I was surfing the internet and noticed Pro Motion 4 and was reading that "FIRAXIS" is one of the companys that use it (Don't know if it's true or not). I might purchase it but I would like to have feedback from anybody on this forum that has it already and tell me how good it is.
Which one is better?

Thanks.

I have never heard of it before. Is it new? I went back and checked all the 3d and CG sites I'm a member of and it's not listed in any forums and now one has made mention of it. Which is weird because they have forums for some pretty obscure stuff.

JASC is fairly popular, so if you have problems you can always go to a forum and ask for help.

nonnob,

look more closely at what you are asking:

Paint Shop Pro and the included Animations shop program are not really animation programs. You can edit frames of pictures and put together filmstrips but nothing in these programs actual can creates animation.

Pro Motion and the various wireframe animation and rendering programs like Poser, GMAX, MAYA, 3DSMAX, and POVRAY/MORAY are the programs that create the objects that then get rendered or projected into the Frames that can be used in Paint Shop Pro.

You are really talikng about apples and oranges here and if you look at the quality work being done by people like Kinboat, Ghenghis, and Smoking Mirror, you will see that all of the truly origianl and exciting and new stuff comes out the animation tools and not just the image editing tools like Paint Shop.

Paint shop is great, I use it every day at least several times, but it is not the animation source and is not where we "create" any game animations.

GhengisFarb here is the site address http://members.aol.com/media27/swlinks2.htm
I kind of know that JASC is a good program (spent over $100 for it :jump: ) But If I do a flc animation on the Jasc animation program, and then when I use FLICster , I cannot open it.....don't understand.
All my units are created on FLICster using the JASC paint Pro shop Graphic program to alter the graphics.
Thanks for your input buddy!
(BTW, I visited your website and downloaded your Bresta Red =over 21= ;) , nice work...)

FLICster can not open FLC that are not in Civ3 Unit format or made by FLICster, what you do is export an exsisting unit in FLICster (mutiple FLCs, Storyboard PCX, ect.) and edit them.

I think Fraxis said they used Pro motion in SMAC and don't use it any more.

Thanks cracker,
I just wanted to get a better picture of this.
I am not questioning the Quality of their work. THEY ARE THE BEST UNIT CREATORS OUT THERE. :D
I just wanted a general feedback how does Paint Pro work for people or if their is any other programs better.
If anybody knows any better ones which maybe I can purchase.
Before I want to spend any money for another graphic program, It's kind a good to know feedback from the programmers that use them already. :)
Thanks again...... :)
I heard about the Maya and POVRAY/MORAY , if someone can post the links, I can check them out. :)

Right, I knew that it cannot be done, just wanted to know if the was any other way....that's why I am seeking for a better program.
I would like to improve my skills by maybe having better graphical tools. (It would be a "dream" come true to reach Ghengisfarb, Smoking mirror levels ... :) )
Thanks Level
(BTW thanks again for helping me fixing the Red color for the Fusilier's flag :D )
