Question!

Hello everybody, I need your help urgently!
Every time I beguin a game, before I can make my third city there is already cities of other civs right beside me, and I hate that! Is there a way I can change this definetely in the game's files?Any help I do appreciate. Thanks,
rebakan

Build some axes and raze them all! :D

Thanks Sjaramei, that's a good idea.I'll do it.Thanks for your post.

No problem :)

But if i understood your problem correct, it would involve some AI scripting and thats not just changing a few lines if you get my point. (i have no idea how to do it :))

So just deal with it and let em pay for it :D

OK, once more thanks for this. To a novice like me, it is very important to learn from others that play a longer time with more experience.Thank you very much.

I don't know where, but I'm quite sure I read in some place you can edit xml document (which one I also don't know) to change the initial distance an AI can beguin to construct cities. I'll try to find out and if so, I'll tell you. but even so, thank you for reading and answering my post.

Perhaps it's a map size or type issue. What do you normally use? Have you tried Huge or plains for example? Or fewer civs?

Rebakan, try creating a custom game instead of "play now" and set the map size to whatever you want and then remove a few AI players(so that there are less than there normally are on that map size), that should spread things out a bit more.

Thanks Rusty Edge and Alsn for your reply.I generally play Chieftain(I'm afraid of playinf higher, maybe I will not succeed well) and with Huge maps, Terra but always it's the same: the civ capital is very far from me, but they make another city right beside me in such a way I can't go any farther, almost closing my way.I'll try to get a screenshot next time it happens.

What will be if I beguin a war right in the beguinning of the game?Is it correct or not(I mean, according with the game's rules)

As long as you're playing alone & not multi-player, there's no rule against starting a war as soon as you meet a Civ.

Some say the earlier the better for war. Maybe you can even snatch a city that's undefended . More likely a worker. It might be easier to learn playing as the Inca, but Japan has an edge, too.

Sorry, Rusty_Edge, I didn't understand well, about the worker.Could you please explain again? Thanks

he just says that you can be lucky and have the possibility of stealing a worker very early on, or even ore, an undefended city. But for this, you have to declare war

if you play with barbarians in the game, be extra careful since with less civilizations, they have more room to spread out on the map, and there are more dark areas where barbarians can appear.

if you have them turned off then you don't have to worry about it of course.
