Questions and clarifications for E3

If I'm correct, the idea of "merging an unit with a city" has only been seen in one preview so far and it's very unlikely an unit will really merge and "become one" with a city. I guess the author meant garrison and not merge.
 
My personal guess on religion is that specific historic religions are out, but generic religious features (tolerance/intolerance, evangelism, dogmatism, etc.)

Yeah, I agree that this sounds like a sensible guess. I was thinking something along those lines, as well. I'd just like some confirmation on that and/or hear specifics about it.

I think they're trying to avoid Vikings founding Judaism and Babylonain Hindus.

That always did niggle at me, to be honest. But it's hard to have the historical Civs found their respective religions, especially when the civilization that founded two of the religions isn't even in the game. I understood, of course, that the religions were just abstract concepts, but when you give them historical names it feels a little weird.
