Questions concerning Vassalage

Hello,

I am rather new to Vox Populi, and am still figuring the core mechanics out. In my current game, I have just defeated an enemy civ with a warscore of 90, and they "capitulated" to me as a vassal state. I have read all of the logs in the civ-pedia but 2 things are still not clear to me.

My questions are:

1. What is the threshold for capitulation through war? Is it literally 90, something lower, or a combination of many different factors?

2. I have read on the civ-pedia that after a certain number of turns, vassal states have the right to request independence if they are not satisfied with the treatment that their master has given them. What are some things a master can do to boost their "happiness" so to speak? Are there any at all?

Thanks.

I would note that the wikia page doesn't state the war score needed for capitulation (just a general "defeated").

I don't know myself; I thought it was 85, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

In my experience, a civilization of decent size won't accept capitulation even at 100% WS; you need to trim down their number of cities first.

Ding ding ding. It was too "apparently easy" to vassalize, so it got made harder including Capitulation!

Usually an easy capitulation is bumrushing toward the Capital.

Check your vassalage screen; it'll tell you all you need to know except the conditions for getting Capitulation in the first place, which I *think* are something like warscore >= 90 and some other factors like relative size, state of the war (how hopeless is their situation) and maybe some other things...
