questions for turn 240

I agree with holding off on research till we can do 100%

I think a modest investment in cruise missiles is called for.
Just to take out some of the wounded Saber ships and make them think twice before cruising so close to our shores.
They won't know we've got them until it's too late the first time.

Cruises can only do 3dmg maximum (the average dmg is lower!). Damaging a couple of destroyers is not gonna make that much difference, we may push Saber a few tiles off the coast, but we could that with a sub and not lose anything.

Btw, we should move our extra units to the cities with fewest units. I see 7 units in The Pier, The Meeting room and The Red tape, despite what the combat calculator is telling us i'm not convinced that we have enough units. I would prefer 10+ in the "critical" cities (the ones they can move through) and then we can play the odds on the mountains/hills/useless cities with 7 units.

yes, but we also have to be sure that FREE can't come in the back door, as it were. I was going to just put some units there, but I think we should forest the tile next to the hill, put up a radar tower and plant some mechs there - I had forgotten about the fact that MA can attack 3 times, so we need to slow down any units further.

As for the cruise missiles - well, killing the carrier in the north will allow us to bomb and kill hurt tanks up there once/if we wipe out the SAMS.

cruise missiles have lethal bombardment and are 1/2 the cost of MA and a regular MA isn't as good as a Vet. Plus, they can do more stuff.

Oh ya, we have to protect ourselfs from Free, there could be 5 units possibly left on the transport and they could have a mix with marines. I counted that we have 20 units compared to last turn to protect us from Free. In real danger is The ways, The Beach, Chamsuri's Coast and The Admiralty, losing any of these could be really dangerous, especially The Admiralty, as that would mean we could lose our cap. I would still put at least 1 unit more into The Pier, The Meeting Room and The Red tape.

I would probably plant forest on the mined plains between The Beach and The Aerie, as that would mean we don't really need to "protect" The Beach (useless city). Then we just need to protect Chamsuri's Cove, The ways and The Admiralty, and since we know there is only 5 units left to attack us we can easily protect those. Planting a forest beside the Ways sounds good.

Well, on the up side, we're only doing this for good measure anyway. It's unlikely that FREE will actually attack us, so we probably won't have to worry about it too much.

That said - how far away from their landing location have we scouted? With a transport right outside it, they could do several trips back and forth to shipchain units in. If they have a stack of transports 7 tiles from the landing spot, then that lone transport could ship-chain 3 boatloads of units into their settled town. 8 or 9 tiles away means only 1 boatload could be chained.

EDIT: I checked AT's screenshots again, looks like he has covered all the vulnerable spots regarding 6 tiles from that transport. 7 or 8 tiles is still a possibility, but only one boatload shouldn't be that much of a problem.

:) don't forget to check the military stats after we sink that transport!
I want to know what we killed!

Don't rob us now, RNG!

 Woohoo!!!!

 :band:

Right on!! I love it!
I hope that totally dumps their pentagon plans in the gutter! Or did they already start the prebuild?

Either way - that's awesome!

ah - got it. Just looked it up myself also.

Thanks A.T.

And great work on the save again!
I think we're going to have fun with our 7 Cruise Missiles next turn :ar15: ... and all for 492 gold... thank you FREE! :)

Man... now my only regret is that we don't have more submarines to duplicate that "sinking an army" trick again.

Sounds nice - killed an army! Great idea to check the military stats after sinking the transport. I never would have thought of that. I bet FREE will be glad to hear how we invested their gold this turn.
