I am looking for the utility that keeps track of how much time you played. Does anyone know where it is? I looked under the Download section to no avail.

Thanks Sparrow but I think I am looking for the one Speaker is referring to. I guess I will just have to wait for Conquests since I don't have PTW.

Thanks.

Ok, how do i give units lethal bombardment? Do i go into Scenario Editor and have to create a scenario in which units have lethal bombardment, or can i set it so units in any randomly generated map have lethal bombardment.

Thanks to anyone who can explain this to me, it really sucks i can't kill units with my Bombers/battleships/cannons/whatever.

Yes, and Yes! Let me explain. . .

In both instances, you need to use the editor.

Open the editor.

Click on 'Scenario'.

Click on 'Custom Rules'.

You should see a bunch of items 'un-gray'.

On the drop down box in the menu bar, click on 'units', and the unit rules screen will open up.

Select the unit you want to give lethal bombardment. In the lower left of the screen is customizable rules.

Now, this bit is very important, so pay attention.

While holding the Ctrl Key, click on Lethal Bombardment Land and/or Lethal Bombardment Sea. Once you've clicked to your hearts content, release the Ctrl key. If you do not hold down the Ctrl key, you will wipe out any other rules that may be active for that unit.

Then, simply save it as 'My Scenario', or whatever.

In Civ3, click on 'Load Scenario', and find 'My Scenario'.

If you want to keep that has a default rule, first go to your Civ3 Directory, and make a backup copy of CIV3.BIC or PTW.BIX (or whatever they call the file. It'll be a .bic file or .bix file for PTW.)

Then copy your 'My Scenario' file to the Civ3/PTW directory, and rename it to the old file name. This will then become the default rules, and your scores will be saved inthe HOF.

It should be noted that if you created a map while doing 'My Scenario', then that'll be your default map. I wouldn't create the Scenario with a map. . ..

I find it a major pain in the ass moving troops cuz i can only move them one at a time. Is there some way to quickly move a stack of troops? please say there is.

CFC == Civilization Fanatics Center, the name of the website whose forums were are posting in.

How about this question, is there a way to tell all ure artillery to bombard so that u don't have to select each one individually?. and if u can't then how do u organize ure stack so that the artillery is selected one after the other when you useeach one?

1) I think you can't stack-bombard .

2) Good question , I have the same problem with artillery .
What I do usually , right-click on stack , select uppermost
artillery and then they are activated one after another .
Usually it works .

Yes, the game is cooperative that way. Unless there's been a lot of movement and rearranging, when you select one of the artillery in a stack and fire it, the next item to get command focus will be another artillery in the stack, until they've all been used.

Artillery usually come up early in the natural 'ready' sequence, right after bombers at the start of a turn.

The trick is not to fortify when you're using them this way. If you have a stack of fortified units and wake them one by one, the command focus will jump all over the map after each unit. If you wake them all before firing any, they'll all come into focus one by one. Then it's just B-click, B-click, B-click, until everything's redlined :)

(Turning off combat animations is worth it if you have a lot of firing to do, otherwise the overlapping sound effects can slow down the game responses.)

Can guests post?

then....explain THIS
(look at the thread starter)

Can a mod from that time clear that up please???

I think things have changed, but not the guest posting rule. While that removed 'just' - bad memory for dates predates me, looking through the thread it appears that a format change had not too long previously occurred at CFC - all the unprocessed code for smilies gives it away, and Becka (I think) comments on it too.

Therefore maybe spycatcher posted during the switchover?

In a year or two people will look back at some of the 'time travel' threads and be totally bemused, I suspect :)

BTW, doesn't this discussion belong more in Site Feedback, since it's about the site, not the game?
