Lord knows this question's been asked 100's of times, but the search function is still disabled. Is there a way to auto-bombard in vanilla 1.29f? Taking a 30 city down to 6 with Bombers and S. Bombers takes quite a while manually.

Question parts two & three: both Bombers and S. Bombers have a bombard of 8, which is pretty awful. I can't imagine bombing a major metropolitan area with either would have exactly no effect a third of the time. Also, Stealth Units have no defense, so if they're caught (5% of the time) by even a first generation fighter, they ALWAYS die. Is this right? A Stealth Fighter going down to a biplane?

I don't believe there's any 'autobombard' in 1.29f.

Since a "first gen" fighter in civ is more like a WW2 fighter (it's represented by a spitfire, after all) it's not too unreasonable. While a B-2 is a little bit faster it's not decisively so, and with no inherent defence it would be pretty vulnerable to any gun armed fighter that got close enough.

Thanks, MadScot. you're right about the Spitfire; my bad.

Okay, off to hit "b" and move the mouse 90 times.

WHAT IS THE DEMOGAME?
This is the Demo Game: http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=100

I once saw it described as something like "A game of civ3, buried in beurocracy." Don't ask me to spell "beurocracy" properly or explain it further though because, frankly, it scares me. Check some of the sticky threads there and/or wait for someone else to tackle that one.

Demo Game

Not a part of it, but basically.....

A game is played and there are a few 'elected officials' who actually play the game out, but the 'citizens' (you, me, anyone who isn't an elected official) debate and voice your opinions/ideas about what should be done and other decisions during the course of the game. There are different departments for the various things in the game (culture department, military department, science department, etc.). So these departments meet and debate amongst themselves, and then report or bring their concerns to the senate/president, etc.. And there are elections for the officials, and on other matters. You can decide in which city you want to reside in, to make it feel more like you are living in that 'country', and even run for mayor in your town!

Every so often (once or twice a week?), they meet in the chat room, and a few turns are played and the turns are discussed, and then summaries of the turns are posted in the forums later.

On top of that, chats may last for a long, long time. A couple of posted demogame logs have gone up to nine hours. And accompanied by exciting headlines in the compiled reports.

why don't gotm games show up in my hall of fame? I'm playing ptw 1.21 but 19/20 were using 1.14f. All my best scores have been obtained through GOTM games but they don't appear on my hof.

And how can I see how the game is developing...can download the game or something like that?

You can easily edit your HighScores.cv3 file to include your modded games. Just open it with notepad and you can add your score in. I would point you to a thread which explains what all the columns in the file mean, but with search disabled....try to find a game in your HoF with the same victory condition, or on the same level, or with the same Civ, and poke around with the other columns until you figure out what each one does. Definitely back up your HighScores.cv3 file before you do this.

Here is the code (thanks to Aeson):

Open up the HighScores.cv3 file and add a line like this:

Brennus 25 2866 3 4 1

code:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name-----Civ(Color)---Score---Difficulty--VictoryType---Victory/Loss
Brennus------25--------2866------3-------------4---------------1--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Color: 0-31, matches up to the way they are listed in the editor.
Difficulty: 0-5 Chieftain-Deity
VictoryType: Domination(0), Conquest(1), Cultural(2), Diplomatic(3), Spacerace(4), Retired(5), Histograph(6)
Victory: 1 Loss: 0

Of course you would substitute Brennus for the leader name of the civ you are playing. This example was a Space Race win on Monarch with a score of 2866 with the Celts.

Anyone have a link handy for the War Weariness investigation thread? I think Bamspeedy and DaveMcW did a lot of the actual investigating, but trying a couple Poor Man's Searches(TM) failed miserably as I apparently don't remember the actual thread title or the original poster....

Thanks Bamspeedy. I think I need to make a little personal links list ;)

I don't participate in DG3, but I did in DG 1 and 2. If you look around in the demogame subforum, look at any sticky threads. In the government subforum (they'll probably still have that) you should be able to find screenshots of the maps and also the savegame.
If you have any further questions about the DG, you could best go to the actual DG forum. In the previous DG there was a seperate DG faq.

Another extremly newbie question ???

In SGs & PBEM what do i do with the save?? I mean Open it or Save to computer? And where do i save it too? I've tried like 20 times & I still can't apperently save it to the right spot so I can play?

Hmmmmmmmm...:(

But where do i find the Saves directory?? I know it's under CivIII somewhere, but when I open civ up its only- Art, BinX, Manuel, Sounds. None of which have anything about saves in them.

Help?? ;)
