i can't speak English well.

if worker on plain can build mine, irrigation and forest either, how AI select one of them?

i use editor ,then the enemy's worker always replant forest, they don't build irrigation where they can build.

i test some cases, then i think the amount of sield and food make infulence .

please.

With the standard rules (plains 1f(ood), 1s(hield), irrigation gives +1f, mining +1s, forest is 1f, 2s) and some fresh water in the neighbourhood, then the AI will always irrigate. If the plain has a bonus resource (grain, cow) that increases the food output to more then 3 then the AI will mine. If there is no fresh water in the neighbourhood, then the AI will mine.

If you change the output of plains in the editor or if you change the amount of food needed to maintain a unit of population then the above won't apply anymore. In general you can still say that the AI will make sure that every tile can maintain a unit of population and irrigate or mine accordingly or plant forests accordingly. It is a bit more complicated than that, but you're probably not interested in that.

@playerjohn: Welcome to CFC. :band:  [party]

Also CXC works pretty good when the first"C" is your capital and the 2nd "C" is on one of the 4 diagonals from your capital! (Your capital city can never work these 4 diagonal squares.) :)

Here's a question:

Say you finish Theory of Evolution the exact same turn as you finish researching a tech. Which gets priority?

Does the game give Theory of Evolution priority, screwed you out of one of your free techs?

Or does the game give your research priority, so that you get your researched tech, and then two free techs from TOE?

YES!.......this is what it does..........EXACTLY the way you want it to.......very useful for Fast Finishes! ;)

thank you Sir.

i use edit ,then change the amount of food needed to maintain a unit of population , change two to one.

some test shows me. the change of one production, makes big change.

i change plain 0f ,0s, irrigation +2f,mining +1s,forest is 1f,1s, and so on.

your advice help me to understand the AI .

i test more case.

thnak you

That will change the game dramatically. In your example, I would expect the AI to forest everything (like you said) because that would give enough food in each tile to maintain the population and give the highest production output. But I've never tested this scenario and probably not a lot of people have tested it.

You could ask questions on the Creation and Customation subforum, all of the modding experts are in that forum. You can find that forum here. But I doubt anyone knows the exact effect of what you're doing. I've created a mod where I've changed food per population to 4 (and changed the food output of every tile), so I had some experience with it. But I believe it is not a thing most modders try to change.

One more thing that you probably already noticed. The despotism penalty (that reduces food, production and commerce by 1 if the tile output is higher or equal to 3) will not have a big effect in your game.

you are right that the despotism penalty don't have a big effect in my game.

in really ,i think despotism is not so bad. so i check off the penalty on despotism.

i will go to the forum which you teach me.

thank you

Questions:

1.) Do Leaders emerge from defensive victories?

2.) Are units from which a leader emerged capable of producing another leader?

3.) Do leaders emerge from elite units in armies?

4.) Can multiple leaders co-exisit, or must a leader be "used" before another one can emerge?

I'm playing C3 v.129f

I once edited my Babylonian Bowman to be a super soldier and noticed that a leader never emerged when I had one still sitting on the shelf? I don't know if this is typical.

I ask these questions because I am trying to decide on how to best use my elite units.

Thanks for the tips.

1: Yes
2: No, unless you upgrade the unit.
3: Yes, but you can never upgrade them to have a chance at another leader.
4: Yes, multiple leaders can co-exist.

3) I have never seen a leader spawned by a unit in an army.
4) No, if you have an unused leader, you can't get another. (note that in C3C you can get a SGL when you have another leader)

1) Yes, Military Great Leaders can happen anytime an elite unit destroys an enemy unit (though not by defeating barbarians).

2) Only after they're upgraded. Then they have to reach elite status again and can then again produce a great leader

3) No.

4) There can exist only one Military Great Leader at a time. In Conquests, Scientific Great Leaders were introduced. You can get a Scientific Great Leader when you already have a Great Leader, but you can't get a Military Great Leader when you already have a Great Leader.
