Q2. these succession games are often named with an acronym, for instance the one I'm reading is LotR10. What does LotR mean? Not Lord of the Rings I presume? Is there a list somewhere with these acronyms?
LotR does stand for Lord of the Rings, it's Arathorn's series.

Assuming you have 'Always wait at end of turn' checked in your preferences, you just press 'enter' or hit the spacebar when the info box tells you to. I believe the 'enter' key will always end the turn. Depending on how much the AI has to do it may take a while before it is your turn again.

Well, the Enter key will open the city view screen when a unit is active and on a city tile.

On the info box, there is an oval button that isn't labeled on the upper left side. Clicking this will end the turn automatically. Any automated moves will take place, then the turn ends.

Usually I like to play the long epic games w/ many civs, so usually there is alot of tech trading and such so my games aren't terribly long. But almost every time the game ends w/ the space race and it gets pretty lame. So i started a game w/ 31 civ's without the diplomatic or space race victories. my question is do you get any extra points in the Victory Point Scoring if you win the space race or get voted the leader of the UN?

Quick answer for kevin2350:

Gold diamonds are landmark terrain.
Marble columns are victory point locations.

I don't have time at the moment to explain those in more detail.

Afraid I am no wiser. What is a landmark terrain?
In TAM most of the Sahara has gold diamonds on it.

Landmark terrain is just a way for modders to use a 2nd set of desert/forest/etc with different values and/or names. In TAM, landmark desert is named 'Sahara' and the only difference from normal desert.

I frequently plant spies and steal technologies from rival civs.

1. How would i be able to know if another civ has planted a spy in my territory? There is the 'expose spy' option, but this could cause my own spy to be exposed. So, other than this option, is there any other way to be informed if there is a rival's spy in my city?

2. How would i be able to know if that civ has stolen a technology from me?

i'm currently playing on regent.

thanks.

When another civilization conducts a spy mission with success you get a message from the type "Our world map has been stolen" or the like. But you don't know who did it.

If you catch the spy his nationality will be shown in the respective message.

There's no other way to know it a civ has a spy in your capital, except trying do demask him but if you fail this mission or simply there is no spy you get the attitude hit and maybe the war declaration that comes sometimes for spying.

Yes, i tried to expose a rival's spy a few times and got caught doing it, and message kept saying that the civ was threatening retaliation against me.

So far, i have not seen a message about any map or tech being stolen from me.

Ok, thanks a lot.

It's been 30 + turns now. It has not expired and I want to cancel it. When I click on the other civ's unit it gives me no options to ask civ to get out. Only "that's it prepare for war"? :crazyeye:

Welcome to CFC Vitriolic! [party]
You can either start diplomacy with your ROP-partner and click on *Active* to renegotiate. You can also check "always renegotiate deals" in your preferences.

I want to chage grassland with sields to normal grassland.

Welcome to CFC! :)

You cannot delete the grassland with shields (called bonus grassland). Shields are good. In fact, those grassland with shields are BETTER than grassland without shields. You are lucky to have so many bonus grassland tiles.

What are the rules of ROP and ROP-Rape? What causes ROP and how do I keep myself of accidentaly ROP-Raping somebidy withou actually even stepping foot on their land?

Thank you very much for your reply ,MR.Ginger_Ale

I understand that.
I can't delete bonus grassland,so can I change the photo of bonus grassland.
If I can change the photo of bonus grassland on map to normal grassland,
please tell me how.

First off:
RoP = Right of Passage

This 20 turn agreement you can sign with any AI you have an embassy with allows you move through their territory without consequences and to use their (rail)roads, and vice versa.

RoP Rape = When you sign a RoP but declare war on that civ within 20 turns, usually intentionally, by placing units next to their cities and cancelling this deal and declaring war, crippling or eliminating them in one turn. This will ruin your reputation for the entire game.

To avoid a RoP Rape and ruining your reputation, when you declare war on that civ, make sure your RoP (or any 20-turn agreements you are giving them) are up, and that you have no units (not even a boat) in their waters.

You can't RoP Rape someone if you have no units in their land.

Replacing the graphic won't change the actual terrain stats, sorry. You have to play the game the way it is, you can't change it.

I understand that.so I can rush to play game with no desire to change bonus grassland.

I think this game is very interesting, more then AOE.
I hope the CIV4 will in store soon.

thank you very much
