I wonder if it's possible to create a minor wonder that gives loaded armies every 20 turns. One for each era (Sword, Knight, Infantry & Modern Armor) that would obsolete the prior ones. Then as the human restrict yourself to using MGLs for wonder/improvement completions.

I have another ... ummm ... not civ3 related question - a forum related question :D
What are the "Referrals" ?

I am posting this here because ... my heart lies with civ3

When trying to decide which techs to trade, how can you know how close a AI is to getting a tech?I mean I could trade my tech for an AI's tech that the other AI doesn't have, but I don't know if the other AI's close to getting it so that it becomes a wasted trade (spend all sorts of extra money getting it, only to find out it has little trade value)

I wish spying included an option of spying what the AI was researching. Not that, that would be much use in ancient times.

So you are trying to buy a tech from Civ1 and sell it to Civ2 after that. And your problem is that you want to know in advance whether Civ2 is already researching the tech in question, right?
I can´t really think of a way to find out before actually offering the tech. Be aware though that if the tech was held as a monopoly by Civ1, the price to buy it will be extremely high and drop drastically once it loses the monopoly status (iow once you learn it). If you can only sell it to one other civ, the purchase will hardly pay for itself.

Fast units have a chance to retreat regardless of their movement points.

I have a question. You see, I'm a bit short on money, and I'm pretty sure I have the very first civ 3, no add ons or nothing. Can you get patches for it?

Suh-weet. Now, could you explain - in noob terms - how I might go about getting it to work? I'm crap when it comes to computers. Oh, and is V 1.22 the latest?

It should be in the form of a self extracting executable. If so just double click it and it will install into the proper directory.

Check to see if you already have it applied. When the game loads it should the version number in the main menu screen. 1.07 or 1,29f or whatever it is at.

For Vanilla Civ 3, the Final Patch is v1.29f.

If you BUY the add-on Civ 3 Conquests, the Final Patch for that is v1.22. :)

Duplicate Post.

Why is the CFC Forum taking soooooo long to access? :crazyeye:

Anyone else having a long delay in accessing the Forum?

Erm, it didn't work. I have version 1.07, and tried installing version 1.22 conquests... I pressed run, and it looked as if it was setting up. I then put the disc in and it's still version 1.07. Any answers?
Ok, I've just read the post before this one (I missed it somehow), so which is the final patch for V1.07?
