Thanks but that was to try and add to the answers on that question. ;)

Heres a question though...

Does constantly going out of the trade screen with the AI by clicking "never mind" make the AI mad at you? I do this alot to double check the tech tree and check other things as well as to see what I can get from other Civs before go back into negotiation. And almost all of the other Civs are annoyed at me. Does the fact that I do this have anything to do with it?

No, it doesn't.

If you want to save clicking, try CRpSuite (Mapstat) and/or CivAssist2. Both links are thoughtfully provided by yours truly in my sig. They will tell you what techs the AI has available, plus a plethora of other information. :)

My question is, if I use espionage ... and my spy gets caught, and Russia declares war on me -- in this case, would the game say I caused the war and broke the Right of Passage treaty with Russia, and with that would I take a negative hit on my diplomacy reputation -- that would make other nations refuse to sign treaties with me?

I can't seem to find the thread or article, but I once read that coaxing the AI to declare war on you with your spy incurs the equivalent reputation hit of declaring war on them. In other words, it's not a good alternative to just declaring war. I do not know how it would affect your treaty rep tho. I would assume that this means that having units in enemy territory would also be construed as ROP rape, but I am not entirely sure. Wish I could find that article:confused:

I don't think that's right. As I recall, the AI declaring on you has no negitive effects, unless a trade route you're using is disrupted.

hit 'print screen' paste onto paint (or subsitute) save as jpg or png, upload and post

This doesn't seem to be working. I'm in the game and I push "prt scr" button and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Turner. I'm trying Civ assist and it seem very useful. :king:

After pressing the print screen, you need to open Paint (or some other graphics program) and choose Paste (ctrl-v). You should then see the image from your screen, which you can save (as a .jpeg file).

As to whether the statement that using a spy doesn't work is true or false, experience should be a dominant factor. Turner clearly has the upper-hand on me there.

I am pretty confident that I read this somewhere, though, because I immediately stopped doing it after I read it. Again, wish I could find it.

edit: I think this is what I was referring to. It's war weariness not reputation.:( I must have been in Democracy when I ceased to use spies for my dirty work. Research indicates that most people agree with watorrey and Turner on this issue. The only reason to avoid this trick appears to be unhappiness and unrest (which would happen if you declare war anyway tho). Monarchy or Communism tho, go crazy.:D

Hello. I have a question regarding the numbers next to your civilization's government type in the info box on the main map screen. What are they? I tried searching this thread for the answer with no luck. Do they relate to units allowed per town/city/metropolis? I apologize in advance if this has previously been answered- I know it is a very basic question. Thank you for any help!

You either have to have a screen capture program to save all your print screens or you have to get back to the desktop and paste your pic into paint.net or whatever program you use .

Welcome to CFC, abernathy!

Those numbers are the breakdown of how commerce is being spent. If I remember the order they go in, if it says 4.5.1, out of 10 commerce, that's 4 to the treasury, 5 to science and 1 to happiness.

Thank you for the welcome, and thank you so much for the answer, this has been bothering me for some time!

I have a great general and I wanna create a warlord. The description says I have to join him to a unit. Does that mean I just have to form a group?
I am playing the 1939 WW2 scenario (and mod) There are icons for the other 2 options of the great general but I do not see an option to join the general to a unit.
Is there a hotkey for this? Or an icons? Are there conditions, which I do not fulfill?

The great general just appeared in my capital and there are a couple of other units there, so I do not see a reason why it does not work.

I'm not trying to be flip here, but you are playing Civ 3, right? I ask just because your terminology is different from what I'm used to. Operating on the assumption that you are playing Civ 3, it sounds like what you've got is a great leader and what you want to create is an army. (If that's not the case, you can ignore the rest of this.) If the leader just appeared in your capitol, as opposed to on the battlefield, what you've got is a Scientific Great Leader. You can rush a Great Wonder with them, but you can't create armies, and Scientific Golden Ages don't work. If you had gotten him on the battlefield after a victory by an elite unit, then you'd have a Military Great Leader, from which you could build an army.

I got another question. In Civ Assist II, when you look at the economy tab and see how all the different governments would affect your civilization, how is the corruption info rated? Is the larger the number the worse it is, or the less the number, the worst it is?

I assume the less the number the better, but I checked what it would be under democracy and that had a much higher number of corruption in that tab. It was almost as high as Anarchy so I'm confused here. Democracy is supposed to be the lowest corruption so those number ratings don't make any sense. Especially since Republic was the worst of them all, and Monarchy is only 188. (Republic and Democracy were in the 500s). Communism had the lowest number of all the governments I checked.

How does the corruption score under all the different governments work in Civ Assist II?

In civ assist, it will show you how much gold is corrupted. Since both democracy and republic have a trade bonus, they have more gross gold that can be corrupted. The actual percent of gold corrupted is less than monarchy and despotism, but since it has a trade bonus, the actual amount of gold corrupted is usually more.

And, now for my question:
How come attacking another civ with non-nationality unit causes an attitude hit???? Shouldn't the victim not have any idea who attacked them?
(I'm playing a modded game where you can build spies to freely pillage rival (not necessarilly enemy) civs, and attack their workers to capture them, etc.)
