Do you suffer a rep hit if you have a MPP and get a peace treaty with the attacker that attacked you and caused the other on you have the MPP to go to war and they are still at war?

I can't think of a better way to word that, sorry.

Do you have many penguins in Kansas?

I didn't realize Turner was so cute and fluffy.

Um.....no?

Okay, so you're CivA. You have an MPP with CivB. You're at war with CivC. You and CivC declare peace. You get a rep hit if it's before the 20 turns is up. But his is where I get confused.... so CivB and CivC are still warring? Is that right? In that case, if you're outside the 20 turn deal, then you shouldn't get a rep hit. Remember to cancel the MPP so you don't get sucked back into the war and get a rep hit on breaking the 20 turn peace deal.

Only in zoos. ;)

Turner is very cute and fluffy. Just ask Mrs. Turner! :D

Indeed. ;)

I'll try again, I'm attacked, I get an MPP with civ b and they declare on civ c, who attacked me. In less than 20 turns civ c says they want peace, if I take it will I get the rep hit. I think it's no but I'm not sure. I was trying to see if this is a quicker alternative to an alliance, but it's sounding more like trouble now that I'm writing it out. :crazyeye:

Actually, I think it has to do with the length of time remaining in the MPP. So CivC declares on you with 3 turns left, and they ask for peace in five turns, I *think* you're okay. But if the MPP is still active and within the 20 turns, then yes, there's a rep hit.

I *think*. I'd go with the MA, myself. Chances are CivB & CivC will declare peace before the 20 turns is over. I have that happen about 80% of the time.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think that you take a rep hit in taking peace with a common enemy whilst having a active MPP. However the rep hit will surely come when your former enemy attacks your MPP buddy, causing you to break the peace deal. Either way, sit out the 20 turns and cancel the MPP when you take peace is my advice.

That line is from The wizard of Oz. It means that you have left behind all that makes sense and order in the universe.

We have WM but I bought their last copy of Vanilla a couple of weeks ago. I don't do any purchasing online.

...although I have my son looking for a copy in Toronto and he may be able to get one from Amazon.ca

I must send him another note
Don't go to amazon.ca. They suck. Get your stuff from amazon.com. It's faster, more efficient and cheaper.

That brings me to something I've been wondering along those lines...

I've noticed after I had just sued for peace with a Civ I was at war against, in the "Active" deals location of the diplomatic screen there is a 20 turn countdown for "Peace". Does that mean I can't declare war on them again for 20 turns or I take a rep hit? Or is that number just for show?

You get a rep hit if you go to war before the 20 turns are up.

Only if there's another per-turn deal attached to the peace treaty, e.g. a resource or gpt deal. Otherwise, it doesn't hurt your rep, so you could get all your enemy's techs or some cities for peace, then turn around and declare again on the same turn.

^ Really???

:wallbash: That's what I should have done with China. But I thought you do get a rep hit if you declare within the 20 turn period.

Really; in fact, it's a banned exploit under RBCiv rules. It should make the AI unwilling to sign peace with you afterward (or at least to give you stuff in exchange for peace), but it actually has no effect on your reputation by itself. Now if you're trading the AI resources or gpt as part of a peace deal, your trading rep will be ruined if you redeclare before 20 turns are up. Also, if you had a lot of war weariness before you signed peace, it might be a good idea to wait 20 turns anyway.

Wow. All this time, I've been waiting for the 20 turns to expire, regardless of whether I had another deal attached . . .

Ok I have a slight problem. All of my unit comands (Attck\Move fortify\Bombard\Sentry etc) have been tilted to the left hand side of the screen. I don't know why this happened but it did, anyway, could someone please explain how to get it back to the normal view. Thanks :).

Couple of questions:
Can cities flip back to AI with no capital (settler on a boat)?
Does "losing" a city via flip-back add to war weariness?

I think its a bug though, there is an indication Firaxis didn't meant it to work that way. If you look in the active deals tap, a fresh peace treaty will have a number behind it counting down for 20 turns, usually this means breaking the deal is a rep hit.

Just sometimes when negotiating a peace treaty there is a notice directly beneath the diplo table which says something like, "This agreement will last until war is redeclared." I guess I should be paying closer attention to what circumstances cause this, rather than a 20-turn deal, but I can't seem to recall.

1) Yes. It has happened to many players.

2) I honestly don't know ....
