...So, when you build that hospital, assuming plague, famine, whathaveyou don't strike, that city will grow to 13 in one turn.
.....And, when you've learned Sanitation (to build your hospitals), Disease is eliminated and the "effect of Plague is reduced". :)

"effect of Plague is reduced". ......I was just quoting from the Civilopedia. I've NEVER actually experienced The Plague. Perhaps it is set to "Off" in the Editor's default values? :)

Thank Goodness! (Was worried for a while!).........It's only a Real Life thing!

with the plague on, does it always strike the human player and some of the AI, or does it strike in a random place always...so that sometimes the human player gets zapped, and sometimes not?

blitz is the ability to attack more than once in a turn, and zone of control means a unit passing by that unit with the ability has a chance of being "bombarded" by the strength of that unit (can only take off one hp max)

If you and one AI player are the two biggest nations in the game, will AI usually/sometimes attack only because you're the most dangerous competition?

Possibly you know better than I, but isn't it only disease from floodplains that's eliminated?

Just a comment on this; Jungle disease can still strike after sanitation. Only clearing jungle tiles stops jungle disease.

The AI will attack when they see advantages. For example if they have a larger military than you, there's a good chance of them declaring war. And if they see an undefended border city, they might quickly sneak attack and capture it.

The AI will hardly ever attack if you have a stronger military then them, unless they see an undefended city, or are payed to ally against you. :)

Bartleby & Jokeslayer: Excellent Point! :goodjob:

I hope the EPA doesn't see this and shut us down. We must clear the land to survive! :hide:

I have never seen this occur, are you sure you are not thinking about swamps?

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure but I think I've seen it in jungle cities.
I don't really know if there's a difference between swamp disease and jungle disease; I only know that Sanitation only eliminates floodplains disease.

I think I'll probably spam this thread with lots of questions in the future. Thanks for all answers so far!

Next thing I'd like to know: When you increase settings for barbarian activity, will there be as much increase in goody huts as in barbarian settlements?

That's what CivFanaticsCenter is all about!!

AFAIK, the higher the barb aggression, the more goody huts there are. This can either mean you can give yourself a whole bunch of goody huts if you are in Chieftain, or you can even prohibit the AI from getting a city from a hut by selecting "no barbarians" (this can be really helpful in higher difficulty levels, not to mention the fact that you don't have to worry about barbs anymore...)
