Timing is everything in Civ. If you play games for the HOF, you'll learn this concept.

While waiting to have a large enough city to build a settler, would suggest building Warriors to use as either MP's or explorers.

If you have a thing about Temples, check out Domination Victory games in the HOF. :)

P.s. Forget how to spell Spearman, let alone build 'em! ;)

I've been playing the original Civilization 3 for around 5 years now and Deity starts to be a bit too easy, since i can beat pretty much any type of game. So, is there harder difficulty levels available on PTW or Conquest? Thanks.

Conquests comes with a new level: SID. In SID, the AI has a build rate of 4, they get even more units to begin with, and more unit support. I believe they still start with 2 settlers and workers, though. Oh, and the AI to AI trade rate is even higher...

If the levels seem too easy...you could, of course, create your own in the editor!! Oh, and, if this is the case, then you DEFinitely need to show everyone how you do it!! :D

Finally: WELCOME TO CIVFANATICS!!! May your registration be worthwhile...

@Qhee: There are actually 2 extra levels in Conquests: Deity (Level 7) & Sid (Level 8).

Conquests (C3C) Demi-God (Level 6) is equivalent to Deity on the original Civ 3 (what we now call Vanilla). :crazyeye:

So, Come on Up! :)

P.s. If you need a bit more of challenge, check out the Hall Of Fame (HOF) competition. Here are the HOF Lists:

Thank you for the welcome, EMan and sercer88! Those are some crazy scores. My personal best is around 18,000. =(
Sorry about the offtopic, wont happen again!

Actually Vanilla/PTW Deity is as hard as C3C Deity. I have just checked in my Vanilla and the AI pays 60% for both buildings/units (24 shields for barracks) and growth (24(12) food necessary for a city to grow). And IIRC it is the same in C3C.

What is different is that C3C Deity scores higher (multiplier of 7) than Vanilla/PTW Deity (multiplier of 6).

@Lord Emsworth: Appreciate that correction. :goodjob:

(I've been bottom-feeding at the lower levels for a while and never gave that a thought! )

@Psweetman1590

Explorers have 2 MP .
Ah, that would be the problem then. :p

Actually Vanilla Deity is between C3C Demigod and Deity. While you are right that the cost factor is the same, in other ways Vanilla Deity is easier. Most importantly the player's OCN penalty is 70%, the same as Demigod. In C3C Deity, it is only 60%. The AI-AI trade bonus is less in Vanilla too.

The hardest is corruption. At Vanilla you may have more productive Cities on Deity tn at C3C.

2) There was no one connected to Internet connection for CIV3:PTW. Is there another way to versus people?

PTW is only marginally ok for MP, C3C improved the system some. You normally find players and then arrange to play. Check on the forums for MP and Demo games, you may be able to find some action.

OK. Thanks for the advice. Always built temples and barrack cause I thought
you needed them. Will try it without.

You should still build barracks fairly early on in the cities that will be producing a high number of military units. So usually when you get a few cities up it might be a good time to build a few barracks in high shield producing city's. :)

Question on war happiness:
Under Depsotism, a rival civ (the Germans) bullied me for a free tech and I refused. They declared war on me which is no big deal, as they're halfway across the world on an archipeligo map.
Since then, I revolted to Republic. Do I get war happiness, or does that only happen if I'm in a war-weary susceptible government when I'm declared on?

As far as I know, you will always get war weariness, so you should have already profited from it in despotism. I don't know about anarchy, though.

Edit: That's funny, I'm just playing a game and I'm being declared on while I'm in anarchy, so I can say now: yes, even in anarchy you get war happiness!

You get war happiness under all governments. As Optional noticed, you even get it under Anarchy. Switching governments does not make it go away. The only way that happens is by increasing weariness or making peace.

Even if you get the weariness in a different government the weariness points are still there, so if you are in monarchy and get war weariness and then switch to repbulic you suffer immediately after the anarchy stops.

Do you mean to say that you still accumulate WW points in non-WW governments (but it just doesn't affect you since you're in a non-WW government)?
