Yes, as long as the ROP is in force, you'll take a rep hit if you DOW. Go into the diplo screen and pull up "Active Deals." Click on the deal that you want to renegotiate, then click it again and it should disappear from the box. That takes it off the table and you're free to DOW (assuming you don't have some other deal going which would cause a rep hit).

Edit: X-posted with Turner. Also, I didn't realize that you got a rep hit by canceling and DOWing on the same turn.

For the life of me, I can't find this place. Which diplo screen do I go to? Where do I find "Active deals"?? I'm playing PTW 1.27 (I think that's the right number, the lastest patch anyhow).

F4 screen. There should be options on the right side that give war, peace, that kind of thing. At the top of that box should be an 'Active Deals' tab.

I was about to mop up portugal when I spotted another civ building up on my borders. Trying to stop them attacking I sign a MPP and a ROP with them thinking that would stop them. But on the very next turn they continued to attack. Is there any thing I could have done to stop them attacking?

In Vanilla there is no such tab on the F4 screen. I think the same holds for PTW. Instead, initiate diplomacy with the Civ in question and select "We would like to propose a deal." This will take you to the negotionan table. There somewhere at the bottom it says "New" and "Active." Click "Active."

I think that when the AI sneak attacks, they will always do so against a target in a city. And furthermore they will not* and cannot** attack certain units - ever. So, theoretically it should be possible to either force them to delay the DoWing attack a little, or even completely block it out till turn 540.

* Armies, or otherwise strong units.
** If the attack has to be amphibious.

Just so you don't get a false sense of security, the AI will attack Armies if the AI's attacking unit is within a certain range of the Army's current combined defensive strength......so, if you have an Army of Horsemen....beware.......I speak from experience!

Also, of course, if the Army has been weakened in battle it might be attacked.

But, as Lord Emsworth says, generally speaking, the AI will not attack an Army. ;)

Question about PTW... Do cruise missiles have lethal bombardment?

Cruise missiles non-lethal in PTW

Question about PTW... Do cruise missiles have lethal bombardment?

In Vanilla they are only conventional unit which does have this feature. And what is true for Vanilla often is true for PTW as well.

And a note on usage. CM and Artillery have the same range. It makes little sense to use (read: waste) CMs on full health units. If available use artilleries to redline units first, and then lay the smackdown with a CM.

I'm playing an extended game. Now my workers can no longer build rail roads or outpost. I have all of the resourses. Dose anyone know why?

Are the workers connected to the resources? If you're trying to build railroads and the workers don't have 'access' to the materials, they can't build the RR.

Outposts, I have no idea.

Ah, so you continued after a VC was met.

AFAIK, the only thing you are unable to do after a VC has been met is to build anything that goes towards a VC. So no spaceship parts, UN, that kind of stuff.

I don't know why you would have been unable to build railroads. Perhaps uploading a save will help us determine what happened.

x-post with watorrey. I usually don't play beyond a VC being met, so I was unaware of any bugs...

I once had a galley attack my coastal city, and a worker bombard one of my units...and it wasn't even an extended game (finished VC). Wierd.

Just so I'm clear on what you're saying...cruise missiles have the lethal bombard capability in Vanilla?

If so, how do you use it? Is it just a matter of bombarding a red-lined unit?

C3C 1.22

My game crashes when I win the Mesopotamia scenario of Conquests. When I win, everything's fine all the way to the screen where the warrior hammers a title for me (The Magnificent etc). When I click for the next screen, the game crashes. I have tried the scenario again with a different civ, as well as several other scenarios, but it's the same thing.

Is this a known problem? How do I fix this?

A good place to start is to make sure CampaignRecord.hof and HighScores.cv3 are not marked as read only. They are both found in the Conquests folder (the top level one, not the Conquests\Conquests\ folder.)
