@aermy: Welcome to CFC. :band: [party]

When one of the units in the group is flashing, type "J" and click on the tile you want the group to go to. :)

simple little question about resources and city placement, If I build a city right on top of horses do I still get to use that resource and build horsemen?

thanks

Yes....Simple Answer.

IIRC, the only resource you lose by building a city on top of a resource is the Food bonus. (I.e. You won't get any Food bonus for building a city on a Wheat tile.) :)

You know in the editor, there's a box for diplomacy text where you enter a number? Does anyone have a list of which number corresponds to which default civ's text (including the civ's from Conquests)? And what does -1 really do?

on new map I started today as England playing as continents 60% water, warlords.

Have an equaly leveled Korea on my landmass along with a weakish India and a greatly reduced from a war with me scandinavian.

I had just reached the other large continent with the other civ's on when my gallay was sunk, So anyway enough background.

There are some small islands that could only support one city and maybe two islands that could hold maybe two or three cities, most don't have much in terms of resouces or at least not ones i don't have already. None of the AI's seam to have gone after them which makes me think there may not be very useful hidden resources there later. I remember someone here saying that the AI knows where these will be a builds accordingly.

So should I invest time and resources settling these small islands, and what should I use to chocse which to piorities? I don't have the FP built yet, another 20 turns so that islands are going to be very wasteful.

Send settler there. It takes like couple shields. You can use it as bargaining chip later on. You should settle the former Indian land first though.

I don't know what you refer to, so if you do post it elsewhere, take screen shot.

ronanp, for sure I would go along with Aabraxan on this one. If you are going to do a domination run, then I often will just park some units on those tiny places.

That way they cannot land and I do not have to worry about holding towns an dthe are still around some place. Even if it had a resource, you won't need it. You will have your land and the other landmass.

I prefer not to have to put in harbors and defend those places.

Is there any chance that nuclear power plants will meltdown if their city never goes into civil disorder? The FAQ/power plant guide seems to indicate that times of civil disorder are the only time it can happen, but neither explicitly says that it'll never happen when their city isn't in civil disorder, and I'd just like to be sure before plopping down a bunch of them.

You're assumption would be correct. :)

thanks following on from that I got India to DOW Korea and we both squezzed them down a bit. Korea has a higher culture then me but I couldn't raze their captured cities as there where loads of AI settlers milling about have built up culture in the recently taken and starved down towns, so they are safe I think from flipping at the moment. I was very over streached and signed for peace got three more outlying towns from the peace, some of which I gave to india.

Have regrouped and my boarders are within striking distance of Seoul which has the oracle and Mausoleum of Mausollos. Taking it would also split the korean empire in haft and if I don't get back in the war soon Korea will get the upper hand on India. My question is if I can take Seoul should I try and keep it for the boust it will give me culture wise or should I just raze it and resettle and be happy with the the damage it does to Korea?

I can't answer your question.........But, suggest you open your own thread related to your game......that way, people can follow along with your game and you can expound to your heart's content!

Just a suggestion. :)

You don't get any culture from captured wonders, you know...

The capital will have a bigger flip chance than other towns, but I think you just need to take some precautionary measures. Keep a few units nearby that can retake if needed, and don't use all your best units for quelling. A flip is not a problem, as long as you're prepared for it.
The Oracle and the Mausoleum of Mausollos are nice to have. The Oracle is obsolete with Education - correction: Theology -, but I believe the Mausoleum of Mausollos does not obsolete. And corruption is always a bit lower in capital cities, if I'm not mistaken, so Seoul is probably worth keeping.
Remember that if you declare on Korea within 20 turns of signing peace this will ruin your reputation - I don't know how many turns have since past, of course.

Is it me, or does Korea get owned in every single Civ game I play?

I had one game where they had a tundra start. I didn't pay much attention to them, but many moons later I was running around with Cav or Tanks, and they had their first settler out. Or, at least, one city with a settler running around. :shake:

But they can and do play very well.... I've also had games when they've been my main competition.
