It was done done on purpose, just an omission. The way I think it happened is that there was no SGL in the original code. They add SGL and put code in to check that you cannot rush a great wonder with MGL.

The problem is that the code was put in where you use the interface GUI. Well the AI does not use that interface, so they do not have that code.

That's not exactly accurate. There's no effects of war weariness in Monarchy. But it's still there. If you were to switch from Monarchy to Rep/Dem, you'd immediately see the WW effects. Likewise, if you were in Rep/Dem and switched to Monarchy, you'd immediately see the benefits of no effects.

Dagnabit, as long as I'm King, those peasants better NOT feel any war weariness:lol:

Yeah, you're right. But they were heavily into Civ4 by that time.

The events seems hazy now but the official story was Atari pulled the plug. And was there ever a half completed patch post 1.22 or is it just a figment of my imagination.

Here's an easy one for the "Quick Answers" forum...

There's a limit of how many armies you can have. It's 1 per X cities I believe. What is X?

You can still get MGL's even if you have 12 towns and 3 armies (eg x=4).

You cannot "build/found an army", MGLs can still be used for still rushing things etc. Correct?

Yes, I hand-picked them all. So maybe that has something to do with it? Could be a valid supposition.
Maybe. That's my thinking, at any rate. I think the bug in culturally linked starts has to do with who shows up in the game, but, because of the bug, I never play with it on. In turn, I don't have the foggiest clue what it does to start locations.

Correct.

Yes you can still get an MGL as long as you do not have any type of leader. MGL's can rush a number things, just not Great Wonders. I just finished a turn set in Rod02 where I rushed markets and such with about 5 leaders as we had 28 towns and I had created 6th and 7th armies.

Hi, Have been playing civ 3 for a few years and have recently got conquests, Is there any way I can transfer a save file from the original game to conquests?

I know it cannot be done normally but does anyone know of any form of download or patch I can get that will allow me to use the save file with conquests and even use it in civ edit.

Any information will be great thanks.

Once you begin a game with particular gamerules (civilizations, units, technologies, and so on) the rules of that particular save can't be changed. This is so for personal mods and especially so given expansion packs, since they often involve changing the code of the game itself.

If can load C3 1.29F saves in Conquest and play them. They will use the C3 rules, not the C3C rules. You will be able to use the C3C interface and see the icons for barracks and such though.

You will have to pay attention to things like the pedia. It will shows things like SoZ, even though you will not be able to build one in the C3 game.

Once you load and save with C3C, it will not be able to be loaded in C3 though.

Hi I recently started using workers on my own rather than automating them. Can someone tell me what improvements belong for each terrain? Should I mine hills and irrigate grassland plains? What do I do with desert, plains, and mountains? How about forests and jungles?

I have Conquests expansion pack. Thank you.

Welcome to CFC, Nordstream! The basic rule of thumb for despotism is: Mine green, irrigate brown. The big exception is food boni. Water them, if it will get you something once the despo penalty is taken into account. Hills and mountains can't be irrigated, so mine them. Jungles & forests: clear them. Roads belong, well, pretty much everywhere.

Thank you. Is it different for other governments? If I am in Communism do I improve differently, or Republic?
