I'm guessing the UN is complete, or near so? Get all the AI in a war against the French. Assuming you're #1/#2 and they're #2/#1, you'll most likely get the vote. Yes, you'll get a rep hit for losing the lux (maybe), but it still might work out if you get that AI civ that lost on the deal soon enough. Like that turn.

You might even want to make the MA (I would avoid MPPs) with that civ before gifting the city. With a generous amount of gold, they should probably stay at war and vote for you when the UN vote comes around.

Yes the French built around 10 turns ago. I already have a MPP with the Greeks (annoyed?) so they will be in the mix soon enough so I will try to give the Hits enough for a alliance. I can win Space with all the uranium but that will take a long time.
First Emperor "W" if so!!!

Thanks Turner and AlanH. The 8192 limit for all civs' units seems to be correct. Well, I'm reducing Celt units by about 50 per turn now so the upper limit shouldn't be a problem for much longer. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to win the game but next time the Celts are toast :)

Is moving the capital worth doing?
Currently, I'm ending expansion phase. I have most of the land grab done, and I'm building the forbidden palace on the western half of the empire. The capital is in the middle. I'm thinking of moving it east to reduce corruption in the eastern half of the empire. I think it would be cheaper than building courthouses (and later, jails) in all the eastern cities. Maybe I'll start building the new capital as a bre-build for a wonder, and if I get close, let it finish. Or, start a wonder and change to palace if its built by another civ.

Anyway, suggestions are welcome.

Hi, just bought Civ3 last week and am struggling to get into it. As I got a budget version I didn't get a manual. Does anyone know where I can download a copy? Thanks.

OMG! Does everyone have a such boring multiplayer in Civ 3?? Never any activity! On the most 3-4 games to join. Maybe it's something wierd about my version??

No, it's not your version. It's much better to set up a game out of civ, as you then know there will be a game ready...other wise, as you see, it can be just dull, with no games...

Somebody's probably already asked this... Can global warming have any effect on production, growth, commerce, etc, or is it just the terrain that changes?

No - the only way trade can 'happen' is via roads, sea, and air. So if you have enemy units blocking the coast and roadways in their territory that leads to another, you can't trade. Your units don't open up the roads - they are in enemy territory, the enemy 'owns' them. (I'm pretty sure of this...I might test it later).

I agree with GA. It's not the presense of units opening a channel (although that would be cool) but the road, sea tile, or airport.

hello everybody i am new here, haven't play civ for very long. I am trying to find a civ III: complete edition trainer
i have tried every one of them on this site, but to no avail.
i just want a simple gold/research trainer. Anything will do! Thanks everybody

I was also wondering about something to do with trade. These cities shown below hasn't access to the empire's luxeries and strategics. This in spite of the airport marked with an arrow... Doesn't airports bring lux and strat? Solution, anyone?

I'm not sure if airfields can trade...

EDIT: And do you have an airport on your main continent?
