I think that you'll find the order is:

1. The human player
2. The AI opponents in order of assignment from the game startup page
3. Barbarians

I always thought the AI's moved before the Human!?.....Their cities expand on turn 10 before mine, IIRC? :)

Hi Guyz

Thanks for all replies to previous posts

Just got a maximum hyperlink error

Question
> What is this?
> How do I address the error?

BTW I am using the latest patch v 1.22 of C3C

That means that a resource is being used too much as a prerequisite for improvements or units :)
The amount of space for hyperlinks in the civilopedia is limited, I'm not sure how many the maximum of improvements/units exactly is.
This does not crash the game normally, but rather show an error for each improvement/unit over the limit.

You can change this only by having the resource be less of a prerequisite :)
By adding another resource or something.

First of all thank you for your swift reply ... 5 seconds

However I don't follow and am confused  :crazyeye:

You mean in game resources eg. iron, timber

No no, you must add more resources in the editor :)

More DIFFERENT resources, it doesn't matter how many you have of one type ingame :)

The game wants to list all impr/units a certain resource needs in the civilopedia, with hyperlinks. After a certain amout of impr/units, the space is used up and the game gives an error.

Therefore: less impr/units per different resource :)

Oh :(
So it is nothing within my control unless I go into the editor hmmm

Since I am playing a mod is this something that I should mention to the designer???

You're doing nothing wrong, it's something the designer forgot or found unnecessairy :)
You can post something about it in the thread of the mod.

Thanks Zeekater

I'll go back later and play on from last save and see if it happens again :)

At least its not my bloody computer

Cheers

OK, now you have me confused

The game crashed and gave an error? What did the error say then?

Normally this stuff happens when you open the civilopedia and have a look at a resource and then you get some messages 'hyperlink text exceeded', but the game should NOT crash.

You edited your post after I had replied so I hadn't seen that 'the civilopedia wasn't active' yet.

Sorry as you mentioned I did in fact eddit the message after I had accidentally posted it  I just wanted to break down your reply into segments and address separately ... Oh and also to point out the swiftness of your reply ... ;)

I was moving a worker into an empty tile and then when I ordered a road to be built a small grey window opened (maximum hyperlink exceeded) ... I then clicked the x to close window ... I then tried to re-order the worker to build and ... there was no order buttons ... just the map

I eventually had to CTL + ALT + DEL to get out of the game because ESC would not work

Ooops Sorry :D

I'll try the game later and see if it happens again :goodjob:

EDIT
Have just replayed, repeating actions which produced the error and ... NOTHING
Oh well I'm thinking that is was a memory problem on my computer

Very strange error

You should open a new thread in the main creation and customization forum, it'll get more attention there from other modders who might have had this problem before :)

Sorry that I couldn't help out more.

Yes, it's still impossible. Armies can be way overpowered as it is (the ai doesn't use them). Making them upgradeable would unbalance them even further.

This Einstein guy pops up in my game!
I wonder how?!
Where can I find his setup, his files ect to modify him?

Plz help.

@Eliminator, it sounds like you got an SGL (Scientific Great Leader). You can use him to rush things. He's especially useful for rushing Great Wonders. Switch a town to building a Great Wonder, move Einstein to that city. A button should appear allowing you to rush. Using that button you'll complete that wonder next turn!

Thx! Yes I knew that allready, but I couldnt explain to ya all.
But now I wanted to know....where can i find on my PC? Which files? Can't find the unit in my editor m'I right?

It looks like they're in the following dir:
C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Art\Units\SciLeader

Adding on to what Dianthius said, it's also in the editor to be modified in the Units tab. (Open the editor, then Scenario -> Custom Rules, yes to the warning, and choose the units tab.) MGLs and SGLs (Military Leaders and Scientific Leaders) share the same entry, apparently. The unit "leader" has the options "Science Age, Build Army, and Finish Improvement" selected, so I bet the game checks and does something like:

If unit is from combat, it can use Build Army and Finish Small Wonders or Improvements. If unit is from science research, it can hurry everyone and create a Science Age.
