1. No.
2. I'll leave that to someone who's tried it. I think I built a Paratrooper, once....

When chopping, what determines which city gets the chop?

Are cultural points for a city lost if the city is razed? I know if you overtake an enemy city, the enemy keeps the cultural points, but if you raze all their cities, do they lose all their culture?
Culture points are never lost no matter what happens to the city. If it is razed it's culture will still count towards the total culture of the civ.

Great thanks watorrey.

I have the resources, barracks, cash and tech and all my cities are connected but I am not able to upgrade my knights to cavalry. I can upgrade other units in the same cities. Is this a glitch?

Well I am unable to upgrade my knights as well. I have the saltpeter and horses, I am able to make cossaks (russian cavalry) maybe its a glitch. I have conquest .22

why is it that only some of my cities that have 7+ population are getting the bonus shields for being industrious? Is this based on what land they are founded on or what?
Thanks

Cossacks must be one of the units they made it so you cannot uprade TO. I think there may be other examples of this.

7+ cities only get the bonus shield IF they were founded on a tile that was already producing 1 shield. Such as plains or BG. They should still get some sort of bonus for being industrious... i forgot how that works now.

I think it works like the commercial, like you said, it must need to already produce a shield. :D

2 questions
1. Can Non-Marine units capture an empty enemy city from a transport?
2. Can a Paratrooper land in an empty enemy city?

1 - So long as the unit has the 'amphibious assult' flag checked, it can. Bezerkers come to mind.

2 - I want to say 'no', but I'm not sure, never tried it.

Im not sure if its vanilla, but I made like 5 Marines and loaded them up in a transport and I thought MArines could attack cities from the transport because I couldnt. :(

Well civpedia tells me knights upgrade to cossacks.

BG stands for which tile type?

It is 'no'. I've tried it in the WWII Pacific and it just sends you back to your original tile.

EDIT: BG - Bonus Grassland.

Did you remember to "wake them up" inside the transport? And are you playing on a non-modded game?

No, it wasnt modded. Wat do you mean wake them up inside the transport, what I did was click on a marine that was in the transport and used the mouse and pointed to the right, which is where the city that I wanted to attack was.
