I'm trying to load up some of my very old Conquests saves, but whenever I open them, all of the older ones have this message:

DataIO operation System Error: DATE

And then more errors appear:

DataIO operation System Error: PLGI
DataIO operation System Error: PLGI
DataIO operation System Error: DATE
DataIO operation System Error: DATE
DataIO operation System Error: CNSL

After that, I get one big error ingame saying that there was an error reading the file.. if someone has a solution, that would be great.

Looks like it has something to do with the version of the game you have. I get these messages as well. Its starnge really i simply cant install the latest patch anymore without the entire game go funny on me. Wrong text all over the place and that just anoys me. I remove the update and everything back to normal and runs fine however i get that message when i try to load a save game from someone with the latest patch. Weird thing is some of the mods i use require the latest patch so im not sure what exactly the problem is with mine. But i think what i hav said here answeres your question. Something to do with version some fsave game files cant be used on certain other versions.

Well, usually I only have to switch to v.1.22, but I still have the same errors... I want to re-record my high scores, and I dunno what to do Oo

You just need a graphics program that can edit and save .pcx files.

So using PSP or Adobe is ok as both can save in .pcx formats?

what bitrate should i save in? so far i am saving it in .pcx and when i go to play the game
the file shows up as black shades instead of the newly coloured terrain...

Himalia is right, C3C games from before 1.22 won't load into 1.22.

You might want to try CRpSuite to scan the .savs for your scores, and then I guess you could manually edit your HOF file in a text editor. Either that or revert back to those patches to load the games.

I tried moving back all the way to 1.12 and even 1.00, but I'm still getting the same errors... except with 1.00, cuz I can't even load my games from there.

EDIT: saw the thing about CRpSuite.. never knew it could do that, and i dunno how to do it lol, but I'll look at it and see if i can figure it out. Thanks ^^

EDIT: I dunno.. nothing seems to be working at this point

So I know that the places that rubber is likely to show up are forests, jungles and marshes. My question is, if early on in the game (prior to researching replaceable parts at least) if you clear all the forests, jungle and marsh in your territory, does that elliminate the chance of rubber appearing on those tiles? I am under the impression that the game decides where the resources will appear right at the beginning, so I would think it would still be there - but that would mean that you could have rubber appear on grassland tiles.

AFAIK, all resources are preset, so yes, you can have rubber on grasslands, as long as it was originally forest, jungle, or marsh

Edit:

The resources are distributed at the start, so you might get a rubber on a grass tile. But I can't appear (we've discovered a new source of rubber) there.

Edit: too slow...

I have a Question, I am in the year 990 AD with my score being 905 and Zulu being 1050 I am 1st in all things but last in military, all but 3 nations are polite to me and on good turms and not at war with any one now.

Why do I keep getting a humiliating defete by Zulu and they jump up to a score of 5000?

When you say first in all things, do you mean on the demographics screen? because that stuff doesn't matter in terms of winning the game. What is Zulu culture level? What percentage of the world do you control? Zulu? Post a save game so we can check it out.

They probably beat you by domination limit, or culture.

Couple of questions:

1) What is the significance of the "Military Service" line in the Demographics screen? I always seem to be 'last' (eg. if there are 7 Civs left in the game, I'm 7th), regardless of whether I'm a warmonger or a peacekeeper. How does this work? Is this a ratio of military units to cities or something along that line?

2) With patch 1.22, I still see no armies being created by the AI Civs even though they get Leaders. Is this a bug or something?

Thanks.

Military service on the demographics is a ratio of units to population. Human players are almost always last.

C3C is buggy in that the AI will never build armies. They never bothered to fix it for us.

dariusII, IIRC, Service has to do with the number of citizens you have and the number of units you have, so its similar to what you suggested. I am sure there is a post in the FAQ somewhere.

Edit: way too slow.... :)

I have discovered late last night that my graphics are doubling in size when i save the .pcx format

I also downloaded a file just a few moments ago and created a copy of it with adobe and psp and it doubled it as well.. :(

tried it with PSP and it doing the same so that may be part of the problem?

not sure how to fix the problem or come up with a solution as i have never dabbled in with the .pcx format before.. so if aanyone knows .. advice would be admirable..
