It is not limited to 2. There can be 3 and possibly four depending on the situation. Who has the most land and who has the most people.
Are you SURE about that? (viz. UN Candidates)....My understanding is that if AI CivA has most population and AI CivB has most land, then CivA will be the other UN candidate. :)

Thanks.

I made the... Internet and several other Great Wonders, but I didn't receive a Golden Age. Why is that?

Is there some option where I can set the Golden Age on and off?

You can only have one Golden Age... and the wonders you build have to match your traits... and you can turn the Golden Age off by removing the "Start Golden Age" tag from UUs and removing all traits from Wonders.

If you look up each Great Wonder in the Civilopedia, the description for each will say "may" produce a golden age for (insert traits) civs. If the wonder you produce has both of your traits, it only takes that one to create a golden age. If it only has one of your civ's traits, you then have to get a wonder with the other trait as well.

No, I think it IS technically possible to have four UN candidates. Here's the situation you'd need to have (which is BTW an extremely unlikely one, but whatever):

- CivA builds the UN, but is very weak and only has, say, 5% of the world's land and population.
- CivB has 25% or more of the world's land and population.
- CivC has 25% or more of the world's land and population.
- CivD has 25% or more of the world's land and population.

;)

;)

Then they would use score as a tie breaker, most definately.

How do you mean? Never actually seen four civs in the UN myself, but it IS possible IMO. (I've seen three, so that's definitely a possibility. ;) )

Actually, they might also use land / pop %.

Say CivB has 26% land, and 28% pop.
CivC has 29% land and 29% pop.
CivD has 27% land and 28% pop.

They would either (a) choose the two with the highest score, and they will be the other ones including CivA or (b) choose the one with the highest combined (? or individual?) %s, such as CivD and CivC.

This may have been answered somewhere before but I sure can't find it.

I play Sword of Sengoku and love it, yet it only allows me to play 8 Kingdoms (I am not playing the MP version by the way). If I edit the scenario and get it so the other 10 kingdoms are playable, if I select one of them the game crashes. Any ideas what is wrong here? Is there a fix?

Thanks,
John

Hey Turner, how about you stop being a dictator.

I need help and have NO idea where to get it, I have tried to find a forum that specifically adresses crashes and/or issues with that scenario and cannot find it. Posting in a few different forums is my only option and harms NOBODY.

If you really want to get rid of me how about answering my question.

John

First of, I don't appreciate you calling me a dictator. I'm enforcing the Forum Rules, which I take you have haven't read. They say that you can't post the same post in more than one place.

They also say that you should respect the moderators authority. Calling me a dictator and ignoring what I've said certainly isn't following that. For that, we'll see you in three days.

Perhaps you should have read the PM I sent. Because in that PM I told you exactly where to ask.

That's odd, I thought when you registered you agreed to the forum rules. Or did you not read them?

Anyway - how are you making these civs playable in the editor? According to the scenario properties (Alt + Enter in the editor for Sengoku), it says all 18 civilizations are playable.

In the editor, press Alt + Enter to get the scenario properties. Go to the Players tab. Check the box for "Human Player" for all the civs that don't have it checked. Load Sengoku and play your scenario.

Enjoy.

When playing I sometimes get rid of the icons in the upper left - the civ icon and the other two. How do I get them back?

Thanks for the help ... it was the delete key that gets rid of and brings back the "screenshot"

Just those three? Or all of the buttons? I know the Del key will give a 'clear screen' (no buttons) that's good for screenshots and what not, but I've never heard of just those three buttons going away.

How do I change the resolution?
I did it before in a previous install, but forget now.
You can't change the resolution in game. You have to do it before hand.

There are two .ini switches that control it. Use Video Mode=1024, 1152, 1280, 1600, or 1792 to set the resolution without changing it yourself. Or you can manually change the resolution to what you want it, and add KeepRes=1 to the .ini, and it will keep the resolution that the monitor had when it started.

You can use both to play civ in a 'windowed' mode, but it's nothing like a 'normal' windows windowed mode. Civ3 will take the upper left corner of the screen, allowing access to the task bar and whatever is to the right and/or below it. However, you can't move it, resize it, or minimize it. Some people find this useful, but I just prefer to use Alt-Tab. To do this, make sure that the Video Mode you set is lower than your screen resolution.

It should be noted that WindowsKey-D will show the desktop, minimizing all programs, including Civ3. Also note the space in Video Mode, and no space in KeepRes.

Here's a link to the .ini file parameters used in Civ3.

Windows-D is the only key combination that seems to work for me. Alt-Tab does nothing...

The human player only gets one content citizen Emperor and above. How many does the AI get for Demigod and Deity?

Do you have other programs running? That's a windows function, not Civ3, so if it works normally, it should work while Civ3 is running.

I'm not seeing in the editor where it's any different than the human player. But they start out with 9 extra units in Demi, and 12 in Deity (18 in Sid, in case you care), so that's a lot of extra MPs to begin with.

Either way, it doesn't work...
