7+ cities only get the bonus shield IF they were founded on a tile that was already producing 1 shield. Such as plains or BG. They should still get some sort of bonus for being industrious... i forgot how that works now.

So if I have the industrious trait it is good to settle on a bonus grass rather than not then.... I usually don't because you don't get the bonus shield added to production and can never use it.... that really stinks!... Every city gets the road bonus so every city gets the comercial bonus.... Ever city produces one shield in the center sqare so they should get the industrious bonus too....

oh well.... I guess this is just one more thing that doesn't make all that much sense

Thanks for the info... I will keep it in mind when I start a new game with and industrious civ...

All questions for 1 player Vs AIs:

1. How do you move a stack of units all at once?

2. If you have a Peace Treaty with another nation that is over 20 turns old, then if you start a war with them, you are not braking a treaty, right?

3. If you renegotiate a Peace Treaty, and you start a war with that same nation, will that be braking a treaty (where other nations hold this against you?)

4. If a nation demands gold from you and you pay it, does that set up a 20 turn Peace Treaty that that nation cannot break?

5. If I give a nation a gift of gold, does that create a 20 turn Peace Treaty?

6. For the Military Academy -- The Civilopedia says, " *Requires: The civilization must have had a victorious army." What does that mean? After I complete the advance for Military Academy, will the Military Academy building not show up in any of my cities' ques until I have produced a leader by chance through battles, AND created an army with that leader, AND won one battle with that army?

Or is that not true, and the Military Academy will show in my cities que and I can build an army without having had a leader and victorious army?

Thank you much!!!

1. J or X to move all units in stack. CTRL+J or CTRL+X to move all units of same type in stack.

2. Correct

3. Renegotiating peace treaty is (arguably?) the best way to declare war.

4. No

5. No

6. That means exactly what you stated. You must have a victorious army.

Thanks Mathias.

What did you mean when you say,

If you renogotiate a peace treaty, and they refuse your offer, who is starting the war, you or them? (I think you are...)

An accepted renegotiating a peace treaty creates an official 20 turn peace treaty that you cannot break without negative diplomacy effects, right?

On another quick note: If I sell a science advance to a nation where they pay me 18 gold per turn for 20 turns -- if I attack them, am I breaking that agreement so that the other nations will hold that against me (like where they say, "No, you betrayed the Russians!"?

I wouldn't think so...

Yes, that's exactly right. That's considered a rep hit, and when your reputation is trashed, there's no getting it back.

But it's not costing them anything - in fact, it's BENEFITTING them! And furthermore, it's hurting YOU...

But a pact is a pact!!! :p

- "Mr. Lenin, I would like to stop receiving your money. You can keep it."
- "What? You bastard. Take my money or I will declare war upon you!"
- "But I already declared war..."
- "Then all the world will know that you don't like my money! You will see!"

This game has some strange things... for instance, if there is a really weak and poor Civ you could try to help them out, by giving them saltpepper, horses and wine... if they are eliminated by other nation than yourself, you will suffer a rep hit. So don't GIVE anything to weak nations or you became in peril!

But what a FUN game! :D

When I reload C3C I have to redo my governors orders every time.

Is there a way to ensure that they "remember" what I told them last session?

Thanks,

Stunner :goodjob:

The units in a city are lost if it flips. Sorry!

Grr tell me about it i remember in a game i played recently. I took my oponents capital and put 4 TOW in there, 3 Modern Armour and 1 Infentry. One of the Tow was down to 1hp and another down to 2hp. Everything else was on full. If its relevnat 2 of the Modern armour were Elite. Anyway the city fell they all moved in but couldnt fortify that turn. The modern armour had just come of shore so had expended there move just getting into the city. I did this as my oponent had a force approaching and although unlikely if all there units in range did attack me they could if i did not put the Modern Armour in that city take it back in one turn. Not likely considering the best unit there was Cavalry. Anyway the turn ended and next turn to my surprise the city had flipped staright back to them and i had lost all those units. Whats the odds of something like that happening ? and how do you work it out ?

The city i attacked did have a very high culture as it had 4 wonders in it and all the other culture producing building you would expect late in the game. They seemed just as stunned by this as i was. O well the game continued anyway. If it makes a difference i was playing as the English and the city i took was Kyoto from the Japanese.

There is a 'Make this the default settings for new cities' check box on the govenor screen. It writes the settings to the .ini file to be remembered. It only saves one set of settings so you cannot save individual city settings that way. They *should* be saved with the game.

I know a wonder is lost if it was in a city that is destroyed. What if that wonder is the Manhattan Project? Can tactical nukes and ICBM's still be built after the city with MP is destroyed?

Actually figure it out by using CivAssist or CrpSuite (see utility forum)

You dont need it for this one. It should be impossible (IIRC) if you take a city It cannot flip that turn.... that is IIRC!

I'm not sure you're right about this one, but I'm not 100% sure you're wrong.

I found a utility shortly after posting that and it was a pretty low probability of occuring. But o well it can so never mind. I spoke to the other player in question and they think it may of happend the turn after it was capturd if thats the case that would make sence. Either way it was a downer. Thanks for the response learnt something new hear.
