whats the best way to stop a civ winning space race? I usually send in spys to sabotage project & factories ect, pillage mines and declare war so they have to concentare resources on troops rather than spaceship parts...
If u capture their capital does it destroy their spaceship like in previous versions of civ?
any other tips for slowing down their spacerace plans?

Capturing/burning their capital will destroy the ship if it has already been launched, and is currently in flight. I don't think it destroys it if the ship is still under construction.

Building your own ship faster is a sure fire way.

Tactical nukes + razing cities if you get desperate and need to buy some time.

Just recently, in one of my game, I built my SS to full so it has a 100% success rate according to the game. However, it still failed the mission after 10 turns @_@ WTH !

Hm? :hmm: That's odd... Fortunately, it has never happened to me.

Pretty sure you are correct. Since both Apollo and the parts are projects as opposed to buildings there is no way to destroy them prior to launch. I guess the last thing built is the CnC and thus until the ship is launched attacking it is impossible since it hasn't yet been built.

With BtS and spies, however, you can sabotage a part from ANY city, even that little tundra city on your landmass that lacks a security bureau (thus getting a hefty discount).
