Quick thought about the "adjustable difficulty" option

Playing a game with "adjustable difficulty" (is that what it's called?) turned on, I just started it, and I look down and notice that I'm presently on Settler difficulty!

Perhaps in the next version, a subset of "adjustable difficulty" where the difficulty level can only go up, not down?

I had something liek that happen to me in my current game. I started on prince difficulty with whatever the option is called (not increasing difficulty, the one that says it goes up 1 when in the top three and down 1 when in the bottom three). By turn 100 I was on Diety difficulty being constantly swarmed by barbarians which was more of an annoyance than anything and it is getting all of my drown up to level 12. Still, is it intended to go up all the way to diety?

Try using "Increasing difficulty" instead of "Flexible difficulty."

Yes. The mouseover for the option even says so.
