It's time for another lovely R & T discussion. Only this time, it isn't a discussion; it's a survey. Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability and personal opinion. :)

1. Do you favor a high tech rate (70% to 100%), a middle of the road tech rate (40% to 60%), or a non-existant tech rate (0% to 30%)? Since we are in a golden age, we can easily do four turn techs every time. Do we want to do that?

2. Are there any optional techs that you'd like to see us research?

3. What's your long-term research goal(s)?

Thanks!

1. I favor a middle of the road tech rate (40% to 60%).

YES

2. Are there any optional techs that you'd like to see us research? I would like to research Communism for Police Station to help stamp out some corruptions in our cities. Many cities have rampaging organized mobs. Even the Mafia exploiting this. Having Police Stations will help reduce it. Sanitation is an excellent optional but I rather see that after we get Replaceable Parts.

3. What's your long-term research goal(s)? Pretty soon we don't need to do much wars, so I suggest we focus our research to stay ahead of our opponents and go for research that provide Wonders.

You Welcome!

4-turn research with the following order: Steam Power -> Electricity -> Medicine -> Scientific Method (ToE free techs: Atomic Theory and Electronics), -> Industrialization. Then we can really turn research down and cash rush tons of culture.

Prebuilds for Hoover's and ToE would be nice.

The tech slider should be as high as possible to get the techs in the quickest turns. Mag can be researched in 3 at I think 80%. ToE will be done in 4. So, we'll be industrialized next turnchat (Saturday). I might go 13 turns if I can get to Rails (which will probably be 7 turns...).

Yeah, something like that. ;)

1. High rate. Everythings better when your high.
2. Nationalism, espionage, and the one that gives you radar towers.
3. Future Tech 76

oh i forgot democracy that isnt even optional for me :) so i forgot it, i vote for that too

Answer to question 2. This is offical Cultural business.

I would like us to make a run for Free Artistry. This would be necessary for us to Shakespear. This wonder is great for culture because it gives us 8 per turn and also, it allows one city to grow above 12 without the need for a Hospital. This will be great for all the aspects of that city, because it means greater production.

I'd go for a moderate rate of research. I wouldn't research any of the optional techs, and once we research Steam Power I'd shut down research entirely (well, I'd go the lone scientist route). Techs past Steam Power aren't that big of a help in enabling us to reach our goal: a 130,000 point cultural win. Rather than spend gold on research, I'd use it to rush cultural infrastructure in our more corrupt cities.

Get Steam Power, after that slow down but not stop. The Byzantines are a problem and will continue to be so, before too long they will catch up, we just need to keep that bit ahead of them. Just so long as we don't start a ToE prebuild and complete it before we get Scientific Method!

1. Fast to Steam, after that no research or lone scientist. We need more money, not more techs. We definitely don't want Nationalism yet - the AI's will research it soon enough.

2. No. They are useless.

3. Steam - and then the big void.
