Dinga Cisse - and I thought I'd get away with a generic African male leaderhead  !! Still, the more accurate I can get, the better!

Xen - do you think one of the set of eight hoplites Kryten did would fit the bill if Illyria was the civ we chose for Helen?

actually, I think the Peltast by kryten would be the best choice for an Illyrian UU

Would there be any chance of having New Parliament House, Canberra, put in behind modern era Menzies?

No problem.

Xen - ok, the Peltast could be used.

I've updated the Malcolm II leaderhead - there's an updated industrial era preview and an ancient era preview. Please let me know what you think :) .

Another take on the Helen leaderhead - as Queen Tueta of Illyria - basically the above with a clothes colour change, larger leaderhead, different background.

Shouldnt Helen be lighter skinned? She was originally greek wasnt she? Ive read all of homer's books but I cant remember if it ever said were helen was originally from. heh, I think I need to start taking some Ginko Biloba or something.

Looks Great!
One comment about the Helen Leaderhead:
It seems that the rest of her skin tone doesn't match her face...or am I just crazy?

I'll sort that out before rendering the animation. I've increased the size of the head, but not sorted the lighting out fully yet.

Thanks for the comments on Helen, but don't forget about the updated Malcolm II...

I love the Tueta leaderhead- so far the best clothing and back ground pics for that leader head model yet! :goodjob:

First I want to say Malcolm looks B E A utiful!!!!

Also on Helen, she was born to Ludi (her mother and a Spartan) and Zeus (from homer's Illiad) and I believe would have had dark blonde hair. I dont know how post a pic so here is a link.

concidering she was greek, if anything, she shoe would have had black, curly hair, and olive skin (conciderign she was from southern greece- it it was northern Greece, liek Northern italy, it would basically be fair skinned, and black wavy hair)

*note, her mother name is Leto/Leda

Damnit you completely ruined my mental picture of her, lol. Guess ive been watching to many movies, she always has blonde hair in them. I knew her name started with an L

Ancient Greeks aristocrats were not like that, esp. in northern Greece. Alexander had blonde hair; check out the busts of Aristotle! Excavated tombs from archaic and classical Greece reveal skeletons of a northern European or Alpine type, not middle eastern. The Greeks today are not the same as of the classical period.

Thank you calgacus, i knew movies were always right.

PS Unit Request: RX your Malcolm is so well done I was wodering if you might be interested in making Priam? I want to add the Trojans as a race to my mod and would much rather use him than Helen. If you are interested I will try and find you a picture.

Alexander isnt from what i consider North Greece, which to me is Thessaly, but rather from the thracian stock that seesm to have been Macedon- though all fo this dosetn matter- the "Greeks" which we speak of are macenaeans and Minoans- and need I reming you, that there is NO pictoral evidence of them being blond haired- in fact, the time hair is mention is when int he beginning, there is reference to Achilles blood red hair- but this is easilly explain by the tradition of dyeing hair red, which was wide spred- even Rameses II The Great dyed his hair red.

(and to note, frescos portray alexander as a dirty blond, not blond :p)

also, I second the vote for either King Priam, or Hector being the leaderhead for Troy
