RADICAL EARTH - Sumeria!

The good news is that, unless you turned it off, Civ autosaves the start of each turn in the Saves > Auto folder that can be accessed in-game. So you can continue without losing your progress. :)

Oh I didn't know that, I played from the point of my last save. Oh well :\

30 A.D. Here we are, back at the beginning. We do pretty much the same moves, sending all our Knights to the Caucasus Mountains. Finish Aqueduct in Edrine and start Courthouse.

70 A.D. Netherlands and China declare alliance against Egypt. Ottomans come to us to renew peace, we accept. Rome joins the war on Egypt. Netherlands comes to us offering alliance against Egypt, we refuse.

90 A.D. Rush Courthouse in Edrine.

110 A.D. We lose a Knight to Germany, but we get two Elite promotions.

130 A.D. Germany's still unwilling to talk. Spain declares war on Netherlands. Byzantium joins the war on Egypt.

170 A.D. Germany has Chemistry, so we're taking the fight to them.

210 A.D. Well no matter what, Germany won't give us Chemistry, even with Tarsus surrounded, so we end the war on equal terms.

230 A.D. We get Chemistry and Economics from the Inca for Dyes, Iron, World Map and 300 gold.

280 A.D. Arabia and Persia are at war again.

300 A.D. It's the first world war. Everyone seems to be at war with Netherlands, Mongols, Egypt, Persia, or more than one of the above. We finish Metallurgy.

330 A.D. Egypt is getting dogpiled completely. They are at war with Arabia, China, and Germany as well as numerous smaller powers.

340 A.D. We're 10 turns away from Forbidden Palace in Edrine and 3 turns from Military Tradition. We give Metallurgy to England for Fur and 300 gold. Then, Metallurgy to India for 14 gpt and Spice. All this gold will be needed to upgrade our Knights.

350 A.D. Aleppo builds Caravel. This is part of my sneaky plan of attack on Constantinople - you'll see.

370 A.D. Military Tradition! We upgrade our 15 Knights to Cavalry, costing nearly 500 gold, and our one Trebuchet to a Cannon. In the meantime, that Caravel loads up with Medieval Infantry and Enkidu Warriors.

380 A.D. India conquers Heliopolis, controlling the Suez Canal. This will be a causus belli with them later. In the meantime, we move up our Caravel and our Cavalry, encircling Constantinople in a simple but effective maneuver.

We lose 3 Cavalry in the attack :( but destroy 4 Musketmen and take the city!!

390 A.D. The Resistance in Constantinople ends. Byzantium has at least a few Cavalry - we're going to have to rely on maneuvering and superior numbers, rather than superior technology. We use Enkidu Warriors to scout from the hilltops, then move our Cavalry en masse towards Adrianople...

400 A.D. Nothing happened during the interturn. We lose two more Cavalry during the assault on Adrianople, but kill three Musketmen and a wounded enemy Cavalry. Adrianople has Shakespeare's Library, nice! The rest of our troops advance towards Caesarea. We put a Medieval Infantry in a sacrificial position to prevent the Byzantines from crossing the river to attack us.

410 A.D. We continue gathering strength on this hilltop. In the interturn, Babylon takes the bait, kills the Medieval Inf and attacks us, we trade 1 for 1 Cavalry losses. We still have 15 Cavalry, the same as when the war began. We move our Elite Cav in and score a win!

"Sargon's Brigade" has produced our first Great Leader. For now he moves to Stambili where he'll be safe. The Byzantines have Riflemen - this is really bad.

430 A.D. We are rushing Cannons in most of our core cities. Edrine finishes Forbidden Palace.

440 A.D. We use our Great Leader to creat a Cavalry army. Our Cannons are moving up to the front slowly.

450 A.D. The Army kills three Riflemen. We sacrifice 3 more Cavalry to finish the job, finally fighting our way into the city streets. Sargon's Brigade plants its flag in the shadow of Copernicus's Observatory!

We sue for peace, getting Magnetism and Gravity in exchange for 450 gold and 15gpt. As we advance into the Industrial era we get Nationalism as our free tech. I set our research to Sanitation followed by beeline to tanks.

Ur begins a Military Academy.

The next step, naturally, is to take the war to the Greeks.

Next update will be in a while, this week is pretty busy...

Rifleman already? Uh oh... that means it'll be a lot easier for the AI to mount an effective defense. Hopefully you can get Tanks before they get too many!

Good work; that Army will be very useful if you can get Cavalry or Tanks in it. I'd suggest putting some Cavalry in it, win a few battles, and get a Military Academy. Then you can start building armies to put your tanks in when they become available.

Once you have Tank armies, you'll find it a lot easier to conquer these guys.

It's kind of crazy that we're already in the Industrial Age in 450 A.D. isn't it? I guess that's Emperor level with 31 civs for you...

Oh well. I've had a game in Modern by 650 AD.
