Prophet IIRC, and it was around turn 46.

Just had another one. Continued to play with this game from an autosave (couldn't reproduce the error tho the same GP was born) and it CTD'd when I wanted to go to the Worldbuilder.
 
Looking over just the XML files I don't see anything glaring. I don't know what was changed in the GlobalDefines though. Did you try using the old GlobalDefines with belizan's changes?
 
All I did was placing his 2 meg dl over the existing Song of the Moon folder (and adding my flagfix). So if this GlobalDefines was part of it then no.
 
Maybe you can try finding that XML file from before? Other than that or the ART_DEFINES file I mentioned earlier I have no clue what it could be in XML.
 
Ga, you guys talk far to much while I am in bed.

Hey Matt, can you look into making features? We could use a good debris feature (8-12 small rocks), an impact crater feature (circular anime-esque impact crafter), and some sort of "damage" overlay feature to be used like fallout is used now.

Another thing to add to my to do list. Boy looks like I'm going to be busy.


This bug thing really sucks. I actually got time now but no access to civ 4 so it will be very difficult for me to find this bug. It somehow sounds simular to another bug we have had in the past though.

It could be an art related bug or a really weird bug that their is no reasonable explaination why it occurs.(We have had to many of these in the past. remeber the CTD in the first alpha release? That bug was so weird I still don't know why it occured.:confused: I had to do a wierd walkaround in order to bypass it)
 
Matt, what will be the best way for me to try to debug this when I get home? There aren't that many files to drop in one by one, but unfortunately it looks like you have to play for some period of time to see the bug. XML errors are much easier. ;)

I'm betting on 2 files, the GlobalDefines and the ART_DEFINES_INTERFACE. If it isn't them I'll be clueless and be forced to watch March Madness tonight. :p
 
In both cases there's this eBuilding: NONE error coming up.

it sounds like the error is originating from belizan's python stuff. The game is trying to get info for a building that doesn't exist. What changes were made to the builing infos XML file? the error could be coming from changes made to the building infos XML file.
 
Well I've played 25 turns and no CTD yet. The only thing I didn't add of Belizan's was the Global Defines.xml. Not sure if that was a problem, but that's where I'm starting.

Belizan - can we add a message about the free Colony Pod? I love the addition of the AI attitude mod component.

Also, I think I seriously screwed up my upload yesterday and used an old folder. If you have the old moon mod patched up with the 6 unit patch I'd use that.

Time to keep playing!
 
Spoke too soon. Program Error crash at turn 31. I have no idea what the game is doing. :sad:
 
Belizan - Where are the medallion units that comes with 12monkeys plotlist button enhancement mod? They should be in art/interface/buttons/units, but I don't think you sent them in the tiny file. Could this cause a CTD?

edit - nevermind. I found them.
 
Yeah, the red blob was my fault.....Read up 3 posts and hopefully you can go back to a previous version.....

I've played 101 turns in my new game and no crashes. I transferred the buttons from 12monkeys mod, but I don't know if that's an issue.

I'd love to know what's going on. I'll keep playing my game and see what happens.

Observations -
Do we need more Colony Pods?
Pistolmen need to go.
Can we find something other than gold as our currency? Energy of some sort?
Having to deal with the artillery barrage every turn sucks.
Still too much food.
