Rallying call for all interested: Colonisation of the Moon mod!

The merging went fairly well. I have to go through and redo some TXT_KEY for the civics, but nothing major. There were a lot of python files that I needed to swap over, however.... :eek:

Sadly the civic buttons are all buggered up. Anyone actually want to take the time to find/make news buttons? I stole them from the original game, EE3, and FfH two months ago. If no one wants to make more I'll have to go through and at least make sure each civic gets a button since now they must be going off of a big dds sheet that is messed up.
 
Email coming. So long as you have yourself patched to v0.17 you'll be golden when you add this email on top of it. Only python and XML shipped. It should include the super civics and the redone tech tree.

JBG - Any chance you could look at the civics and add some descriptions, strategy, something?

I like the civics, but like I've said we need more buttons and some descriptions. I wrote a lot of "need pedia" and "need desrciption" in the fields just to avoid TXT_KEY errors. The screen and layout look sharp. Also, the three starting Core civics are a good idea.

I haven't had time to play so I didn't even build an He3 improvement.

Did the tech tree look better?
 
There were no problems at all. I was just stating that I had to merge more than just 4 XML files. I'm glad I checked! It runs like a dream.

Did you see the Rover pic in game? Sweetness!

I got out of the habbit of using it, so I haven't checked, yet. I'm thinking to go play a game now, but I'm also doing some testing of a modcomp for someone else, so testing is like.. time consuming.. and all that.

Anyway, the charter civics need to be tweaked, their values did not come out as I had intended :/ (specifically in regards to city maintenance costs). The special powers civics are all as outlined by JBG. I am particularly proud of the AI's use thereof. The really difficult part was all the custom features and display info in the civics screen. It's one of my highest quality feature additions yet. Note: The National Alert no unit in 1 square radius of a city is not implemented yet. I'm still thinking about how to do it (without side effects).

Anyway, tomorrow I think I will put in Terrain Attrition and some of the Random Events and go from there.

Not a fan of the satellite image start? I quite liked it. As I thought I would, I suppose :/. If we get the satellite unit into the mod, I should be able to put it's image on that dialog somehow. Somehow.

I didn't notice the image start, well maybe I did.....I thought something was funky, but when you change as many things as I do you forget little things. Did it show the starting locations of the civs or just the map? I go into worldbuilder so much it's hard to remember.

I'd like JBG to put in an appearance and work on civics! The Special civics, the descriptions, the buttons! I'm like a broken record.....

I see attrition and random events. Any timetable on debris and falling crapola? ;)

Mark my words, an American expedition will lift off the second it is clear the Chinese can reach the moon as well. ;)
 
Just so it's put down somewhere other than my scratch pad I'm going to list the releases (at least what I'm calling them) so far.

v0.10 - The debacle release. ;)
v0.11 - fixed initial release
v0.15 - 2nd release
v0.16 - my own internal test
v0.17 - the patch
v0.18 - With the super civics. Sent via email.
v0.18a - added the Moon rover unit. Not sent
v0.19 - what I'm tweaking now.

I think you and belizan are the only ones working on the mod at the moment.
 
I guess it'll be easier to ask for forgiveness later than permission now to the stuff I plan on changing. ;)
