Random Events in Civ4

There IS already a risk of nuclear reactors exploding.

If you want realism, nuclear reactors should NOT "explode." In the real world, they can't actually detonate like an atom bomb: what happened at Chernobyl and (nearly) at 3 Mile Island was a meltdown, where the atomic pile catches fire and releases lots of fallout into the atmosphere.

The fallout, of course, is nasty enough :nuke:, and in Civ4 it should be displayed as affecting a wider area than just the environs of the reactor's host city. The odd patch of contamination could even appear halfway across the map, given prevailing wind direction (if any is specified). But the meltdown event should not physically devestate the city, as a nuke would.

You are halfway right, there was no NUCLEAR explosion at Chernobyl, but there was an H2 - O2 explosion, that has blown a hole to the hull (and there was a meltdown, the radioactive stuff is still very hot and is making its way down into the ground.

This is Civ, not SimCity. :p Leave the tornados and tidal waves at home please.

Allow them to be scripted in, but no way should they be in the default game. It sucks enough already to lose because your big stack got hit with lava...

It sounds pretty good, but despotism is already dictatorship, and I will not enjoy Civ4 if there is a senate. I would hate that.
